It's the variable intake manifold from the factory on 00-01 maximas. Bolts on with minor modification. Much like the MEVI but better midrange

It is the intake manifold from a 2000 or 2001 Maxima put on an older Maxima. The 00 is for 2000, and the vi is short for "VIAS" variable intake air system, which is a completely different intake than what is on a 4th gen. It has set of butterflies in the manifold which open up around 5k RPM and give you more torque at higher RPM's.

There is no such thing as an average junkyard price. It depends on the junkyard.

Ya know the FAQ... there is a lot of info in there... but here is a link for you...

well a junkyard is a junkyard, I know that. Its just that I havent heard any prices when the subject of a 00vi comes up. Im just looking for a ballpark figure. I always read the stickies and How-to's before asking a question. I try to get rid of my noob qualities as much as possible.

A ballpark guess... $300? but I have absolutely no clue as to what they would ask...

There are usually some for sale on that other forum... you know the one with all the pertinent, technical, useful maxima information.

mine for $200 includes the upper 5th gen, 4th gen lower to get drilled to match the upper, the egr guide tube and bracket thing for it. This way you dont have to change any thing with you fuel lines/injectors with the 4th gen lower. Its the easiest way in my opinion.

You will still need:either a pathfinder tb and adapter or adapter for your 4th gen tb or use the stock 5th gen tb

and something to open up the intake. (rpm switch or vafc 1 or 2 or emanage ultimate but im sure yall would be just fine with the rpm switch)

and you can get the adapter plates for iacv but you dont have to. I didnt.
