So I have been on this forum for some time now and never really started a thread about the life of my s13 and whats to come of it in the future. Also its a little slow at work today so i figure I make a thread.

I bought my car when I was 16. Back in 2004 when the 240sx drifting craze began to grow. Back then I wasnt really into that stuff but for some reason I always thought that this car looked so cool from playing grandturismo and seeing option videos etc.

When I was 16 my parents found me this super clean super stock 1992 s13. I paid $3500for it.

it was grandma gold automatic and had poop brown interior. But man was it in great condition for a car that had been in a snowy climate for all of its life.

the engine was so clean it looked like it just rolled out of the factory

And the interior was in pretty nice shape as well

I didnt do much to the car for the remainder of 2004 besides typical maintenance I didnt modify anything, i just learned to drive.

2005 came around and so did the mod bugBeing only 17 with a s***ty part time job i wasnt rolling in the dough. That being said the modifications i made to my car where cheap. haha bassically my first modification was a ebay special catback exhaust.

Surpirsingly it was pretty good quality, good welds, and great fitment.

i ran it with a silencer because it was so damn loud ( Sounded like pure s*** esspecially with the auto trans) haha

A little later in the year I bought some suspension. Once agian cheaping out on kyb struts and eibach sportline springs. This was all before the coilovers or die method with 240 owners that we see today and that I absolutly agree with. I also replaced the no make china brand tires the car came with with some proper falken tires.

the springs dropped the car about 2 inches all around.

Well those didnt last long I drove the car like that for about 4 months and bam the rear strut blew. maybe i should have went with agx or COILOVERS haaha cool......

So i rode around like a dumbass on blow shocks for about a month and also picked up some wheels. jumped on the sportmax craze like every cheap 240 owner in 2006 and thought that 17x8+35 would be a good size for my car lol so i got sportmax 006 with 225/45 falken fk 451b tires ( SICK TIRES BTW)

oh man i though i was cool rocking those:badboy

DAMN CHECK OUT THAT SICK FITMENT

garbage.....

Ok then i got tired of bouncing all over the place and i almost crashed a few time for the blown shocks enuff was enuff i finally bought coilovers on spring of 2006... and my car started look pretty cool i guessthese are still some of my favorite shots

so i drove it like this for the longest time probably a good 2 years.

but i will continue the story in a bit...

OK like i said in 2007 nothing really happened. I was starting school in the fall and getting ready for that and was taking up much of my time. Plus being a freshmen I didnt really need a car living on a college campus.

I eventually brought it up to school and being parrinoide about some kid stealing my car i bought a new steering wheel set up.

Personal blitz steering wheel with a nrg short hub adapter and version 2 quick release.

Bassically in 2007 the only thing I did was buy new brakes and pads. lol pretty lame

well 2008 came along and i was starting to want something a little bit better, something more fun to drive with more power. After months of thinking..... more like a week.... i decided that i wanted a sr swapped 240.

So durring the summer of 08 my search for a already swapped sr s13 began. I finnally had a decent job and was making great money. But the problem was that every car I looked had some sort of stupid problem like rust, s***ty wiring or sr hack jobs. This is when i decided that since I already had a solid chassie with no rust or accidents i would spend the extra money converting my car to manual as well as swapping out the tired ka for a sr.

so it begins.....

how it went in( nice ricer intake)

bye bye ka

ka out

time to clean the bay and get it ready for the sr.

all cleaned up time to prep the new motor.

I scored this super clean late model s13 black top. for $2100 i planned to keep the internals stock and just replace items that needed to be replace. luckily the engine was in great condition so i basically i only had to buy new spark plugs. thermostat, water pump etc were all in great shape.

Junked the stock clutch and flywheel and replaced it with a fidazina flywheel and exedy stage 1 clutch kit.

bolt that stuff together and its ready to go in

nice... replaced the motor mounts and trans mount with nismo mounts

cut the holes for the front mount fmic and modified the front bumper suport to fit the new large fmic.

all in there

now we just have to remenber how to put it back together..haha

2 days latter......

the bottom end went. time for a new engine. to bad cause this one looked perfect inside and out. weird....

good thing the engine was still unter the 30 day warranty so it was all good.

pulled the engine and swapped a fresh one in.

cool....

well anyways

new engine got put in and it is still running strong.

i always admired your car for how clean it is.....being we live in a state full of rusted, bent framed, problematic s-chassis. And now you have the type x aero and flush mb battles which really set the car off.

and so on.....

well the sr swap left me low on money so I started to save up . again my sick summer job was about to come to an end and I would be heading back up to Rochester ny for school.

tords the end of summer 2008 I started to think what I should do as far as upgrading the look of my car.

after many decisions sexy style version 2, bn, and version select. I came to the assumption that I didnt want to have exploding frp aero while driving down the hight way.

SO.

i deiced that i would try to find all OEM late model 180sx aero.

Then October came along and I scored a awesome deal on some used kouki lights. $310 shipped for the complete set from japan!

SICK.

they showed up on halloween night and i snaped a pic before I went out to party. haha

these were in perfect condition, and believe it or not all the bulbs worked too.

a few weeks later I was searching ebay and came across a complete set of oem 180sx type x side skirts. in pretty good condition. One looked like it was run over but it was definitely repairable.Another sick deal at$215 shipped from japan

I installed them and painted to talights durring thanksgiving break. nothing is better than sodering in 30 degree weather....

type x has begun

test fit the sides

since it was starting to get cold and snow usually starts around this time i put the car in my garage for the winter.

see you next spring....

ok so i was up in school and in december i decied that the s***ty sunken sportmaxes wherent going to cut it if i was going type x.

so i bought these

17x9.5 +15 with federal 595 215/45 (f) and 225/45 (r)

21 lbs same as cst hyer zeros

its funny because the sportmax 17x8 where heavier lol

got the tires mounted and bought rear hubsgot these on ebay suprisingly after about a year of heavy use there are no problems.

mounted the tires and the stretch was ok.... should have gone with 40 series side walls

i like these pics for some reason

Ok lets get these installed

Rear hubs, redrilled the front hubs and redrilled the rotors. my buddy had a pair for slotted and drilled front rotors so he threw them on.

back to revolution

fenders were also rolled.

drove it like this till summer 2009

just some pics i like durring this time

the day the 5 lug swap was finished

first shoot

drove back to school and took some pics during the spring also swapped out the personal wheel for a nardi 330mm classic got a canon 1000d so i took some cool shots.haha

next step TYPE X
