not the best pics but here are the results. These were taken 3 hours after installation so the springs have not settled in yet. The difference is remarkable. The car was good before and now it's absolutely great. The rear no longer jumps around like a cricket on steroids. It's planted now like there's glue on the tires.

The ride is quite a bit stiffer and I only have it st on 1 front / 2 rear. Can only imagine what 3 / 6 will feel like. Changing lanes is only a thought away. Before my brain can send the message to turn the wheel, I've already merged over.

I have to readjust to how the car handles now cause i've already spun out once with this machine. Light rain+ gravel on corner+ new suspension+new driver = some scary moments I wasn't prepared for.

here are the pix.

Here are some more from the same day. Notice the ground clearance at this time.

Now where can I purchase some Cusco Strut Tower bars and Antisway bars? The STBs come first. My mechanic also found out my water pump was busted so that was also changed.

sweet. I just put my AGX's and Whiteline springs on my S13 last week. I love it, totally changed the car. I took it to the autox on sunday and ran my shocks at 3 and 4. I was just trying it out. I'll probably run full stiff up front next time and more like 6 or 7 in the rear. I turned them all the way down today for daily driving. I was running around at 2 and 4. it was way too stiff for me. and I've been running modded VW's for years. And had a slammed pickup before that so I know what a rough ride can feel like. My other car is my GTIVR6 and it's on H&R race springs and bilsteins. it rides like a cadillac compared to my s13. now at full soft it ain't bad. I guess the combination of stiffer springs, the shocks turned up a bit and the stiff sidewalls of my Azenis just make the car ride rough. I have no idea how the other guys around here run around on coilovers and pillow ball everything everyday! Maybe I'm just getting old....

they are rubber boots that go over the shocks to prevent all the crap from the road from ruining the shocks...

you installed the rear shocks in backwards. the dial faces the differential, the sleave that the main stud goes through on the bottom of the shock is tapered. it doesn't match correctly the way you've installed it.

No biggy, probably won't cause probs, but FYI

Nice choice,I was running them on my old 240sx. Though you may want to redo the rear again. The dial is supposed to be pointed inwards for easy adjustment and you can see the numbers as well.

Excellent choice on shock/springs. The Pro-kit works very well with the agx's. Get dust-boots FAST, like the other guy said debris from the road will nick the shock's pistons, once that happens, they will prematurely leak then fail. That happened to one of my rear agx's, i think the piston was scratched by accident during installation. Anyhow, you can get the dustboots from TireRack.

Also, look into getting new tires, I speak from experience (i freaked out when i saw the Dunlops). When i lowered my car, I made the mistake of keeping my Dunlop SP5000's and the increased load from lowering made the tires give up their traction very early, and unpredictably. It was not fun having to save the car from a slide every time I made a turn at 15mph in very light rain. Right now i'm running a/s Bridgestone Potenza RE950's (since Oct. 2003), they have excellent wet traction, directional tread pattern, they're affordable, have good treadwear and can handle about 3" of snow which isn't bad at all (the sp sport a2 you have is semi-directional, but very poor in the water-evacuating design). My boyfriend bought his first RWD car last year in May, (a Z32 300zx) and because I knew he'd be prone to making fwd-derived mistakes in a rwd car, I made him buy the same tires I have.

Tires are very important when it comes to upgrading a suspension. Not getting the right kind is like a chick wearing a basketball uniform in high-heels.

There's a tire faq in the supsension/wheel forum that you could also look at too.

Nice choice. I went this route as well on my s13. Shox were 280 shipped, and I had pro kit from the previous owner (how cool is that?). Anyways, boots were 12 ea/for original kyb.

Thx for the replies people. i had them put on by my Mechanic so I'll have to take em back and have the rears redone. I'll also have them do the dust booots at that time. Dust boots for front and rear, right?

I thought there was something strange about the way the dials were but I couldn't pick it out.

Skydroness5 - some good info there. The tires came with the car but I'll definately have to get some new shoes for the winter.

IWannaS15 - I'll see if I can make it. Will you be at Starbucks or Whiteflint mall and at what time.?

Potenza RE950's are awesome if you live in a place that rains a lot. Kinda pricey where I live, but in the end, you get what you paid for. My previous tires were Nitto NT450's (Show tires that lacked traction), and it was spooky driving with those in heavy rain.

the sportlines drop more but the spring rate is softer, the prokits are stiffer and drop less. I bought my prokits slightly used for 200 total.

Wheels will have to wait a while cause i need 4 new tires. Don't have enough cash to get 17"wheels and tires so I'll be rocking the stock wheels for about a year or so.

Skydrogoness , I took the car back to the mechanic and had him look at the rear struts again, he agreed to fix the issue after I get the dust boots from Tirerack. Same place I'll be getting the tires once I decide which ones I want.

I'm considering the Bridgestone Potenza RE950 vs a set of Yokohama Avid V4S.

Sportline

* Lowers Vehicle 1.7" - 2.3"

Pro-Kit

* Lower Center of Gravity–Lowers vehicle 1.0"-1.5"

If you are getting the KYB AGX struts, using Sportines will void your wararnty beecause the drop is too much!!!

I posted in your other thread about the tires. We live generally in the same area so we get the same kind of weather. I recently bought a set of 15" rims because my stock alloys bent during this past fall's roadwork . Anyhow, since i'm keeping the bent alloys (one pair is worse than the other pair) i plan to buy a set of Bridgestone Blizzak's, and bolt them on when it snows..for convenience sake. Snow tires are different to drive on, they give off a squirmy feeling. You are definitely on the right track though, and that's good.... tires should come first. They are the only thing connecting your car to the road, so no one should skimp on them. The ones who do are the ones spinning out all the time and crying about how the 240sx isn't good in the rain. Boo HOO!

You definitely did your research on spring choice. Sportlines are TERRIBLE. I would know, i had them. It was a misinformed choice. Now i run Suspension Techniques, they're a linear rate spring, very stiff, and go excellent with the agx's.

To anyone else who was considering getting them: DO NOT. If your'e looking for agressive drops, on a daily driver, your'e dreaming. You WILL be replacing shocks every year (depending on road conditions maybe sooner mayber later). It's excessive and not needed.

hey guys, i got s-tech springs with kyb agx that are gona go on my car.

I am also converting it to 5 lugs due to 300zx brakes, which also meant getting new rims. The rims of choice I got are skyline gts-t rims. They are 16" +50 offset and 6.5 width.

I am hoping to get some 205/50/16 tires... at first tirerack got me all hyped up for good year eagle f1 gs-d3 tires! Their pricing seemed nice, however when I checked LOCALLY it was a different story... even Yokohama ES100 tires are basicaly double in price when I asked locally than what tirerack was saying!

I don't know what tires to get... and soon my rims will arrive (maybe even tomorrow -- won them at an auction from Japan, got them for a good deal). My dad is suggesting goodyear assurance tires (whatever those are), but i dont know...

Some help people

Why would we know? Contact TireRack's customer service by phone. Or just go to pdm-racing.com because they're a Canadian-based shop anyway. They should have the boots and other suspension parts.

I'll help you out, despite myself, seeing as you have decent taste in tires and you're not trying to buy 18's. Go here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...GS-D3Find your size and hit tha handy little "Shipping Quote" button to the right of it. Just enter your postal code with no spaces or whatever, seeing as you're in Canada.
