Hi, all.

Last Saturday night, my family went out to dinner to celebrate my son's wonderful piano recital (six and a half years old and he is playing better than I can!) When we came back out from dinner, parked next to us was an M30 - in absolutely wonderful condition! What was particularly interesting about it was that it was not a convertible!

I did not know that any solid top M30's existed! Anybody have more information? How many were made/sold, etc.? I agree with the other recent post on the M30 - it looked absolutely clean and gorgeous. A very unique look (which is why I like my current 2003 M45 - and do not like the new one as much!)

Before the Q, I almost bought a black M30 coupe. An American company actually does the convertible conversion for the US market, and then Nissan sells it.

Kind of odd seeing that Infiniti Q45 steering wheel in such a compartmentalized 80s interior. Sweet ride, and I'd love to have an M30 ragtop.

Obviously there were more sold as leopards in Japan, but the hard top didn make it's way over for 3 years. 1990 was coupe only, 92 & 93 were both coupes and 'verts. I don't have any production numbers, but one would guess not many .

The 90's had Nissan logo's on the motors and the 91/92's had Infiniti logo's.

The motor/tranny is from the late 80's 300ZX, the VG30. It's not as powerful as the J30's and later 300ZX's VG30DE.

I found an MSN Group in the UK, where lots of guys have swapped in the VG30DETT/4spd into their Leopards. The Leopard in JDM form was offered with a VG20DET as well.

Edited for accuracy, thanks qship.

I should have mentioned, some of the pics are JDM Leopards (pre-90) that have more of a squared off nose. It's hard to tell at first, but I like a little more than the M30.

I think it's classified as an F31.

I'm gonna try to get a good condition M30 Coupe this spring as a 2nd car and the long term gaol will be to swap a Z32 TT drive train into the puppy .

Who's gonna put change in my cookie jar?
