Saturday 11/13/2004 BZCC Dyno Day

With Nico and 502 representation.

The day started out cold but sunny at our pre-meet. We all met at Meijers on Preston hwy between 8:45am and 9:30am. The caravan drive from Meijers to Clemons Automotive was very fun and took us about 30 min. Looking in my side view mirror I could see Z cars of almost every generation stretching 11 or 12 cars back.

We made it to Clemons about 10:00am and lined up in the parking lot. When It was time to start putting cars on the dyno we asked for volunteers. Fred must have been chomping at the bit to put his new 350z on the rollers to get a baseline because he made it real clear he wanted to go first.

Here are the pictures that Fred took with the Dyno results.

Randy Lynn 93 300zx TT convertible (RED) - 412.5 HP / 386 TQThis Z was spinning the tires on the rollers! Bill Michaels 91 300zxTT (YELLOW)- 405.5 HP / 407.7 TQBill became one of only a hand full of people to put down over 400HP on the stock turbos.

Its hard to see but that IC looks great in the 350z grill.Kevin Flowers 04 350z Roadster S/C (RED) - 341.9 HP / 301.2 TQ

Ryan Lamb 90 300zx TT (BLACK) - 284.2 HP / 273 TQ

Fred Palmer 04 350z (BLUE) - 228 HP / 222.5 TQ

(No pics yet but they will be uploaded soon)Jamie Wilson 91 240sx sr20det (BLACK) - 222 HP / 231.3 TQ

Dave Melton 240z w/ 280z turbo motor (SILVER/RED) - 216.5 HP/ 257.3 TQ Dave's car had some trouble and he had to fix it and bring it back after we went to eat. Daves Z is the one on the trailer.

Mike Frantz 03 RSX-S (BLUE) - 185 HP / 129.9 TQGreat #'s

Kevin Hall 90 300zx 2+2 (WHITE) - 181.9 HP / 175.6 TQ

Jeff Horning 98 Jetta VR6 (RED) - 158.8 HP / 154.5 TQ

(better pic coming soon)Andrew Scott 70 240z (BLACK) - 111.5 HP / 118.2 TQ

Sam Cilone 79 280xz (BLUE) - 95.2 HP / 133.3 TQ

|||People who signed in and did not Dyno today were...|||

*Tim Davis 91 300zx TT (SILVER) - 492 HP (didn't dyno today but had a Dyno sheet with him)*

Dane Kelty 04 350z (ORANGE)

Curtis Vagne 74 280zxr (Silver/Blue)

(No pics yet)Bob Morgan 280zx Turbo (White)

Bob Renfro 95 300zx TT (BLACK)

There were a few more people there to watch that did not sign in (my fault) and some passenger as well.

After the Dyno time we went to a near by campus parking lot to get some group photos.

By then we were all very hungry. So we went to a small mom and pop pizza place/pub to partake in much food consumption.

Here are a few photos of the cars at lunch.

Thanks to Josh Clemons and Clemons Automotive!

Special Thanks to the guys who came down from Cincy.

Also Thanks to Fred for the photos.

If anyone has any photos please post them in this thread or E-mail me and I'll get them up. If there are any corrections that need to be made let me know via [email protected]

Yeah they are awesome. We are going to have a big Z Day next year in Louisville. I'm hoping that They can gather up lots of OH Z cars to bring with them.

boo-yah. Somebody needs to post a better pic. Fred shorted me.

Screw it, I'll post one of my own:

I didn't think about your lazy engine combo andrew, not bad, I'm trying to get steve to dyno his high compression 2.8 but the pingiing of the stock injection has him skeered

also what's with the bsp !? you gonna knock the purple people eater down a notch ?

Bah, tell him to fork out the money, put a crane on it, fill it with Turbo Blue, and get some numbers.

As for BSP, that shot was taken in Lexington. I was whuppin' up on Corvettes in that class last summer. The engine I'm building won't be SP legal. I'm going to build the car for EP (I hope), but I'll probably run in SM2 locally.

EP is a very fast class as well, looks like it'll take me at least another year of Emod before I am ready to play with the big boys in SM2

I made a little page about the dyno day on my website, nothing big but if you would like to see it go here: http://www.ragtpz.com/Events/bgdyno/bgdyno.htm

Video of my car spinning it's tires on the dyno is there as well.

Take care!

I was just thinking, I hit 14mph in 4th on the dyno, anyone notice what kind of speed they were running while on the dyno? just thinking about my gearing wondering if I should upsize a bit
