Wayne from Phase 2 told me today that the SOHC MAF from a KA will not hold up well beyond stock boost. I have been running one since the swap was done (8 months) and it crapped out today. Anyone running one at 1 BAR with no problems?

Anybody? No body can confirm whether the SOHC MAF is inferior (at higher boost) or identical to the SR MAF?

I ran mine at 14psi but not for a long time, I ended up grading to a Z32 after a few weeks.

In short it worked, but I don't know about durability.

I've got a friend locally who has been running one at 14psi for almost 2 years now without issue.

That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks.

Yeah I had swapped my MAFS for a SOHC while troubleshooting (it ended up being cut MAFS signal wires). I ran that MAFS for a couple weeks at 12-14psi and had no problems. I swapped my SR MAFS back though because it looked a little better than the KA one.

Can anyone explain what needs to be done to switch to the SOHC MAF? Mine came converted to use the SOHC MAF but it craped out. I have a SR20DET MAF So I need to convert it back to work with the SR20DET MAF. I have no idea thouhg...I DO know that the SOHC MAF only has three wires and I'm assuming the SR20DET MAF has 4. Can anyone help?

You will need the SR MAF plug (It's bigger than the KA) and splice it in place of the one you have now. Not sure about the wiring though. You might just be able to match the colors up. It will be hella easier and probably cheaper if you just get another KA MAF from the junkyard for $30 since it will be hard to find someone who will hack up their SR harness for you.

I have a friend with a Cobra MAF, I was thinking of getting it and replacing the MAF currently on my car. I need to know what year, and what motor I need to get the MAF from if I go with the Cobra one. I can also get a 300zx NA MAF. Which would be better? And when I swap them out will I need any other parts?
