not sure about the exact weight difference but the sr is lighter being it is aluminum and the ka is iron. A na ka24de fully built will prob put you around 200 hp. but to do this will cost alot of money.its better to just turbo the ka.when paired with a similar turbo the ka makes more power than the sr anyway.I know the sr stock makes around 202 at 7psi and the with a similar turbo the ka can make around 220 at 6psi.please don't quote me on those ka numbers though.

The KA engine itself is a little heavier than the SR but after intercooler, turbo, and all that stuff the SR is just about the same weight. The SR actually mounts a few inches back to help the weight distrobution. An SR would be more powerful than an N/A KA, but personally I'd rather have KA turbo.

Another weird point is that the KA actually got the cam on bucket design and the sr got the rocker arms. Cam on bucket is a little better design. I am sticking with my KA. Turbo is awaiting install.

the DE doesn't have rockers, the SOHC does (I don't think it's possible to have an SOHC engine without rockers... ). A fully-built N/A KA will put you well over 200 horsepower.

Stock KA @ 6-7psi will get you 220whp. You really don't have to rebuild it as long as you didn't skimp on tuning. I wouldn't do more than 10-12psi though. At least that is the case on newer engines that were taken care of. I have had mine since 16k and maintained everything. I am confident mine will hold up.
