21.5 mpg on my last trip

95% hiway but not slow. mostly in the mid to high 80's, with some jaunts high 90's for as long as traffic allowed.

Wow, I've never been so lucky. I remember keeping track 2 years ago. My round trip to the gig was 39 miles out of which about 7 of it was city and the other 32 was freeway. The best I ever got was low 19's. It was always high 17's to mid 18's.

that's pretty darn good.... my 90 always gets about 20.5 on the road.

The 94 does about 21.

Could never get 21 on the 90.

However, I would say my highway driving is 75-80 and no more...so that seems like an impressive number.

I celebrated 18mpg on my last trip at 70mph. Up from 14mpg thanks to BG44k.

I can get 21-22MPG usually on highway if I resist WOTing, but thats VERY hard.....

But with the 4.08 that just shows how well tuned your Q is fred.....

I've gone as high as 24 mpg on the highway with 23-23.5 not uncommon. My 400e has gone as high as 28.5mpg (also 4.2l/268hp V8).

Just looked it up I got 23.94 MPG during a trip to Chicago last April. Haven't gone anywhere beyond 30 - 40 miles lately.

PS: There were quite a few WOTS in there it was by no means a slow trip and not a small sample either, at 345 miles driven on that tank ( gauge slightly below quarter)

still thinking about it i wish it was perfect so I could ask more for it but the way it is now the price is fair to both parties.I still like the car a lot though and it performed flawlessly on my recent long distance trips.

Seems to use no oil at all, or at least less than I am able to detect with the naked eye.

My last interval was long due to all teh hiway driving and still no use of oil.

I have always wanted to travel from coast to coast. I just wanted to take a little more time. We are planning to do it in 7 days.

San Francisco to Alabama, via Las Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Jackson.

Then we take our annual trip to Hilton Head 2 weeks later. This will round out the trip to a nice 3,000 miles, or more.

I have arranged for an oil change, tire rotate & balance, fluid check, & break inspection.

Don't need the breaks giving me trouble, crossing the mountains & desert.

You need to add more points of interest to your itinerary. 600 miles a day is nothing in a Q45. Trust me.

Sorry, Fred, but I feel I have thoroughly hijacked this thread.

I hope to get some 24 MPG tanks, on my trip, in the black Q.

Here is the story: I bought tpuig's 1994 Q45t. He lives in San Fransisco. I bougth 2 one-way tickets, to San Jose, and plan to drive the car back home. Do a little sight-seeing along the way.

I am working on hotel rooms, now. I have an aunt in Oklahoma City, and my wife has an uncle, in El Cahone, but we might not go that far south.

I will start a new thread, for the trip info, when it is more complete. I would like to meet some NICO members, along the way.My Silver Q gets around 20 to 22 MPG, 80% highway driving @ 74 to 77 MPH, no WOT's and most of the around-town driving is below 3000 RPM

600 miles a day is nothing in a Q45. Trust me.

Yup! I once drove from some small town in California (just shy of the Arizona border) to Fort Stockton, TX. Left at about 9am and got there at about 3pm, including gas stops and lunch.

Darn quick and loads of fun!
