I have a couple of good extreme close-ups of a disassembled Q45 fuel pump that clearly shows the source of noise. The pump is supremely robust and exquisitely designed. Noise is incidental

Hey Rex, what happened to the pics of Texasoil's fuel pump DIY?.Looks like the fuel pump is going to be my next project and I'm going to need all the help I can get. If I can "repair" the pump it will save me almost $1000.Aussie

Is that your cost for just the part alone? Even with the exchange rate that is ridiculous. Over $600 USD last I checked.

I think we can get you one from Joe and ship it for less than that. He'll probably even do it since he usually ships DHL.

Yep, the local dealer quoted $900 ex Japan + fitting. In the past when I have imported Stuff for my '46 Ford from Bob Drake the cost to my door is close enough to DOUBLE the purchase price in the States, as a general rule of thumb. DAEDALUS, I recon your $600 US would be close to $1200 AUS on my plastic.Maybe if I shop around down here I might be able to get a replacement, but when I read that Texasoil had successfuly repaired one of his fuel pumps and had tried to post a pic, my DIY alarm bells rang real loud. If Texas can do it than I'll give it a go!!! He made it sound pretty easy to repair, I wondered why you blokes don't try it before coughing up for a new pump.Regards Aussie

The $600 USD was my quick calc for your $1000 AUD. We pay less than $300 USD for a new fuel pump from Joe.

What is your local price for a 90-96 Nissan 300zx twin turbo pump-- functional equivalent.
