Hi all,

Im new to your forums. My name is John Pesch and recently i have completed putting a VH45DE into my r33 Skyline. Its currently the only such car in the country. My question is that i need to know where abouts the engine number is located on the block.

Cheers

John

Welcome John! That's quite a project there. Why did you decide to put the VH into an R33? I think the numbers you're looking for are on the top of the block way in the back, just in front of the tranny interface.

I was down under about a month ago. Didn't see a single Infiniti. Beautiful country you live in!

thanks heaps for that u saved me possibly hours of searching

The reason for doing it was to be different, Skylines are becoming very popular here and its hard to have one that stands out but now i do :D

i made the extractors with my mechanic, the stock items would not fit between the chassis rails. Everything else except for the pod filter is stock. 3 inch back exaust with 3 inch highflow cat and yes the 4ro3 transmission.

I would like to know how many people have superchared these engines and what boost is recomended with stock internals, also if there are places i can by things like aftermarket cams and what not.

Just read your otrher question about SCing.

AGM ( Australia) has SC'ed his VH45DE, if he doesnt catch this thread find him thru our members archives.

Also as of recently we have an SC system sorted with the manufacturer of the original B.A.D SC. though no members have undertaken that yet.

i would imagine that the vh's wiring would be a pain to integrate nicely.

came out awesome.

really goes to show you how good of an engine the vh is when someone picks it over an rb for an install in a skyline none the less.

Mating a factory Nissan with a sub-harness is easy compared to some. They usually have one or two separate harnesses from the engine straight to the ECU and a plug or two that go to the big body harness from there.I've done some Mazda rotary swaps- they have the engine harness in with the body- by comparison, a major PITA. All the lights, climate control, power windows, mirrors, theft and everything under the hood run through the same big harness- I think one of Fords bright ideas. You have to cut it all open, sort through what is, and isn't needed, cut away anything you don't need (literally hundreds of wires) and re-wrap the whole thing to get an engine/ECU harness out of it.It was nearly a weeks worth of work. Nowdays, If I build a modified 13B that will be taking lots of boost, I just get a stand-alone.Kirk

Thomas Knight can make you an Eaton 112 supercharger for your car, if you're interested. Or an eaton m90, but he has moved on from his original B.A.D. design.

That's an awesome car...

oh the car saw an outing to the strip on sunday, and ran 13.38@106mph, i still dont have a stall convertor yet so im almost certain it will run a high 12 with a convertor. Unfortunately i was in the second last round of bracket racing when i ran that time on a 13.5 dial in and got knocked out, i was both happy and pissed off..
