Yes, it's a diy.....a di(rt)y.

If one's going, you might as well do the rest. If it's leaking at the connection, it could have dirt in it or have been over tightened.

There are about 5 hoses total, I'm in the middle of it right now. A rebuild kit is offered for the pump, thank goodness. Some of the lines can be remade by a qualified hydraulic hose shop. We have two good ones in Orlando, Amazon Hose & Rubber & Hydraulic Hose Supply.

Even the guys at the dealer said to make the ones you can there instead of paying $120-$200 each for the 4-5 hoses.

Of course a 1/2 a$$ made hose is just that, though.

I will need a hose made. I'm going to swap out my active suspension style p/s pump and to do that, will require replacing one of those hoses. Once I find out which hose it is, would you find out how much it would cost? Or, would you post the number of the shop that you use?

I took my failed PS hose into a street rod shop and they made up a new one using my old banjo fittings. None of the local hydraulic shops seemed to have new fittings to match up with OEM Nissan. The placement of the orifice was critical on my HICAS hose that failed; a tab is positioned on the OEM fitting to set into a recess that orients the hose correctly. The repaired hose started leaking within 3 months and I eneded up biting the bullet on a new one, it just wasn't worth the hassle of messing with it again. Next time a hose fails I'll try another shop. $155 for a 12" hose was absurd, even from Joe. Good Luck, the repair is pretty straight forward except for the limited access to spin a wrench. I think AZhitman has a reliable hydraulics shop in Phoenix he can recommend.

Amazon Hose & Rubber 407-843-8190

Hydraulic Suppy 407-295-4537

The guys at the second # there have *every* Aeroquip line & fitting in existence *in stock*.

If you can identify which one exactly you need, I can have them make two when they make mine.

I'm also rerouting my trans filter, installing a trans cooler, adding a ps cooler, new radiator and electric cooling fan in the process.

Ooooh, tell us about the PS cooler! Are you adapting the Z32 one? Pictures and narrative, please!

Hey Brian,

It's probably not as trick as you'd like, the whole front end is apart at the moment.

All I'm doing is adding a Setrab trans cooler & relocating the filter down to where I can get to it while changing the engine oil.

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the Z32 p/s setup, this one is just a new Cobra take off I had sitting around. Once I removed the stock airbox silencer, there's plenty of room to install both coolers up front.

New Calsonic radiator, and probably a Flex-A-Lite 3300-5500 CFM electric fans to reduce parasitic drag from the clutch fan (which is also leaky & going bad).

Expensive, time consuming adventure when you add in the p/s lines, but since it's down & I'm cruising in one of our 3.5 TL-S's I have a couple of weeks to get it all done.

You have a 3.5 TL Type S Prototype?

Any cooler for the PS is a good addition, although I wouldn't want to disable the stock air box silender. But that is merely a matter of location of the fluid to air heat exchanger. Even the extra fluid capacity should be helpful.

Hope you have time to post pictures. Are you using the low pressure line as a feed?

Thanks for the information.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

We've done a couple 3.5 VTEC stroker kits for the 3.2 guys. Here's one:

http://www.cardomain.com/membe...ge=26

Pardon the narration, he's close, but not exactly right on the details.

One of our stock block 3.2 TL-S Automatics is running consistent 13.6's at 102.5, full interior, nothing removed, that's with a Comptech Supercharger & modest boost increase, soon to follow, air/water aftercooling & more trans work.

There's somewhat of a cooler already, an aluminum line that runs across the front of the condenser, but it doesn't even have heat sinks or fins for heat dissipation. All I'm doing is interrupting that line and placing the Cobra cooler inline. I should have pics in a week or so when I can get back to it.

Thanks for the inquiry,

Looking forward to the pictures.

Thanks for the Acura update. I bet the dealer here would be intrested in your kit for the 3.5L conversion.

That Acura rebuild is crazy. Glad to know if I get pulled by a black one in Austin, it might be your work.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I'll take that Active P/S pump off your hands if/when it's available!
