So I am contemplating driving my Z to Tucson this summer for a 3 month job, but have a problem. I don't want to roll on my 19s out there, since a bent rim would equal a disaster. I have the stockers, but the rubber on them is crap. I was planning on replacing my injectors and doing some other stuff totaling 2k, so the last thing I want to do is spend another 1k.

So my options are to get some new rubber on my stockers. I don't want to do this since I'd never get my money back out of them. Buy used wheels and tires (maybe some 5zigens with some fresh rubber on them) and re-sell them when I get back.. or take my DD (old maxima).

Are the roads out there that bad to have to consider different wheels? I'd go with getting some used aftermarket wheels. Gotta roll in style man! And the stockers don't really provide that lol.

Noob question:

What does wheel size matter? Sorry but I'm not getting it.

Bigger wheels = smaller sidewall = less damping over bumps/holes = greater chance of bending a wheel. And big wheels are expensive to replace.

I would take the maxima, buying and selling all that crap would be too much hassle imo.
