rb20 ecu for a rb25det neo engine

Hi how are you guys!!! just wanna know will an rb20 ecu and transmission work on a rb25det neo coz im planning to buy a neo engine with a auto transmission just want to know if that works or not. thanks in advance

wow i am in NJ and dont even try that, the trans should work, but its not the best ,and the ecu will not work at ALL, the rb25 neo has no ignitor and a few other issues that wont work that ecu. you will damage something , possibly ecu and coil packs. just get a standalone haltech platinum 2000, its a PLUG IN solution

short answer yes.long answer is its a headache, requires either a jumper harness to convert from the rb20 plug to the neo plug and a full on retune.you'd also have to run stuff for vtc and add in wires for the idle switch for the ecu to function properly.not an easy task if you are not familar with wiring, and the auto neo harness is one of the 'messiest' harnesses to deal with.

neo uses 'smart' coils like the r33 s2 rb25de/t engines so the ignitor is built in...
