My wife's car is making some noises-first instinct for problem id seems to beloose exhaust system.

I am going to see if it's loose (I dont think so cause I checked it about amonth ago and couldnt reproduce the problem). Unless its simple, I thinkI am going to change out all the rubber bank looking supports to see whathappens. Also will use torque wrench to see if tightening on nuts etc isadequate. I dont hear exhaust escaping, just a rattling metallic noise uponaccelation. Car's engine performance and pep are ok.

Any dont dos or go aheads are appreciated.

Most likely from the exhaust system but also check the engine mounts.

My first guess would be an exhaust heat shield.

Well I tightened the bolts for the heatshield on the exhaust pipeand cat converter and a lot of the noise has been eliminated(didnt change rubber supports). Is still noisy at 30 mph forsome reason but goes away as speed picks up

Am going to add some clamps I guess. We had a new mufflerput on last year sometime and I think they left off a clamp?

Checked the motor mounts and they appear to be ok
