Well as some of you might know in the east coast there has been a lot of rain and my house flooded. Unfortunately i was at work and my welder was on the floor in my garage. Well a little water got into my garage but I can't believe that in broke my welder because it was less then a 1/4 inch. Well cut to the chase my welder wont even turn on. What can be wrong it should be dried out. My welder is brand new a few months old its a Lincoln Weldpak 125 is there anything i can do? Warranty?(does it cover water damage)? Where could i get it fixed in central nj? Price?

Thanks for any input?

Maybe if you took a pic of the welder insides help would be more forthcoming.

and also buy the insides do you mean just the hatch or the electrical components. Is there an easy way to access that?

You open the side hatch and take a picture of inside the welder. Duh.

Look, if there are any electronics on the bottom part of the welder, they are going to have to be removed and dried out before you try anything. You may have burned something out just by plugging it in. Remember, you need an open space for something to dry out, I'm just trying to see WHAT you burned out.

LOL. Geeze Dave, take it easy man. Obviously he does not understand electronics and water.

Boost - Dave is suggesting you find the part of the welder that arced and burned causing your issue. once you find it you may be able to fix it. Both of these tasks require some skill to take it apart that far and be able to put it back together.

Most likely there was still water in the welder when you tried to start it up. The water connected 2 or more circuits that caused an electrical arc and burnt some components. Its best you send it to the manufacture and claim it on your housing insurance.

Good luck!

You sir will hate your SR20 then, OR spend a lot of money to get it fixed when it breaks or you rub your harness under the front fender...

Just a heads up:

zerothread?id=403443

You may want to do that or you will have major wire problems in the future when you tires rub against the harness and cause all sorts of problems.
