I understand what you guys mean when you say the gauge is some what pointless as you cannot see the gauge when it is under the hood.
Although I respect your opinions, there are a few reason why I like Mishimoto though. I see them on forums as sponsors (which does cost money), only for technical support, and not to sell. I have yet to see Koyo and the like do this. Mishimoto offers a lifetime warranty unlike others. And do things like partials sponsorships for anyone interested, or create "clubs" like Mishimotolovesdrifters.com where you can get discounts and all that good stuff.
Like I said, this is why I like them as a company. They seem to make an extra effort to keep in touch with all the "weekend racers" and people who mod cars for fun, rather than only focusing on "big name" professional racers.
Well, I don't see where the comparison to Koyo fits into this. I run a Koyo 'radiator', it's no comparison to a gauge cap, yet alone this particular one. Koyo is two people? Whoa, don't tell these people,
http://www.koyorad.com/company/! And for the sake of support let me requote from OutToWinPAHC: "It [Mishimoto radiator cap] has a lifetime warranty yes, but doesn't cover your engine when it leaks letting air into the system causing you to overheat and warp a head." ... Hey, choice is yours if you want to take that risk. I'd much rather go with a "big name" that has consistant race proven worthwhile products and strong product reliability for the serious stuff such as keeping your engine cool. BTW, anyone who has a little cash can be a forum sponsor; it does not necessarily always mean that they are reputible and/or reliable with quality products. The overall point here is that Mishimoto's radiator cap with a temp gauge on it seems pointless.
