I had my Q in for its quarterly service yesterday- had oil changed{ 7605 miles on Redline 0W-30, the highest ever for me, sent sample to Blackstone to see how it held up} Also had the new Centric Premium rotors installed on the fronts and had everything cleaned and relubed- interesting the caliper pin boots were torn/destroyed as they were newly installed 46,000 miles/26 months ago- luckily I had brought along spares as no dealers seem to stock them anymore.Pads were only 1/2 worn at 46K so I reused them.Rotated tires and out the door in 2 hours

I have been hearing a slight noise from the rear and thought it was the differential wearing, and stepped up to 75W-115 gear oil last November with no change in noise level- beginning to think it is a rear wheel bearing starting to wear- will have to address that soon I guess- anyone ever replace one?

you were previously running the redline 75w90? I have that in the differential of all 3 Q's and I'm happy with it. course, highest mileage unit is the '94 at 128k.please do post up your blackstone results--what filter--still some 60U00s?also, wanted to ask you about the valeo blades: did you get the chatter worked out, and are you running 22" both R and L (tire rack reco's 22s on both, although i have prevoiusly used up to a 24 (old style frame) on the L side)?

Yes, always ran Redline 75W-90- stepped up to the 75W-115 last Nov. in an attempt to quiet what I thought was a slightly noisy differential-turns out to be a wheel bearing I think. I was running a Pure-One filter last time, just installed an Amsoil EAO38 filter with fresh Redline 0W-30 yesterday. Still have {5} 15208-60u00 filters left.

Original Valeos were perfect, lasted 18 months- second set made a horrible squeaking sound, but so do the new RainX blades, so the problem was not the Valeos- either some film on windshield or possibly worn/bent wiper arm??? Not solved yet!!! I am pretty sure they are both 21 inch-whatever the book called for is what I bought?

Will post up Blackstone results, should be interesting as I have been using 3 oz Redline SI-1 injector detergent in every tank of fuel- wonder if it will skew the numbers?

Clayed, Barkeepers Friend, Bon Ami, Sprayway..........maybe it is too clean, therefor it squeaks???? I am beginning to think maybe the wiper arm tension spring is getting tired??

I added Einszett "krystal Klar" windshield washer booster today{same as the P21s additive} seems to have cured problem, but not enough time to be sure.

At your cars age, the windshield is probably microblasted and you need to apply a conditioner to fill the pits and reduce balde chatter.

Qship - Did you determine if a wheel bearing needed to be replaced?

No, noise still there, but has not gotten any worse or louder- which leads me to believe it is the differential wearing? {I would assume if it is a rear wheel bearing it would have failed by now? } not willing to guess at it and replace both wheel bearings for over $1000 and have it turn out to be the differential.....
