I'm looking to upgrade my '04 i35 oem radio with Nav system to aftermarket double din stereo without cutting too much wires and keep original Bose Amp and Speaker, can this be done! and any lost in sound quality? Anyone try this before with result?

You just need a hi-low adapter for that and you'll be all set. It will sound a little bit different because the BOSE set up shapes the sound differently at different volumes, but other than that it shouldn't really be much of a difference.

I'm in the same boat. Amazon.com seems to think that Pioneer unit won't fit in the i35, though I'm not sure how trustworthy that is. Not sure why it wouldn't-- double din is pretty standard, right?

Amazon is definitely not a source I would trust. It will fit in just fine.

can you be more specific about the hi-lo adapter? Finally turned in my other car (07 Altima) and so I'm now in the i35 full time, and the tape adapter just isn't going to cut it for an AUX input. (The Bose sub is also cutting in and out... maybe a loose wire?)

Anyways I want to replace the HU in the near future, sounds like the only part I don't have located specifically is the hi-lo adapter for using the bose speakers with a new HU (in addition to the others listed in the first post).

This is a pretty cool product because it's easy to install, and comes with the harness adapter.
