That's the F-111A Aardvark, I took a pic of it's plaque. Pretty amazing stuff. BTW I've been to Charleston AFB but didn't get a chance to check out any of the museum stuff but did get in some good diving. There's a crazy Navy museum in Pensacola too with an F22 and old + new Blue Angels on display.VRoy wrote:Sweet man. What is the one pictured sixth from the bottom? Very little wing on that one. While i was in the Navy a few base's on the east coast had planes on display too. If anyone is interested Oceania Naval Air Station in VA beach and the base in Charleston SC(CV Class Carrier, ww2 sub, alot of planes too) have some pretty cool stuff civilians can check out too.
Yeah the Warthog is easily my favorite. I was surprised at how small it was considering what kind of power it packs. Has anyone played Tom Clancy's HAWX? That's a sick game!Bwana wrote:Baddest plane EVAR.
Played the demo, and I was all about that game. I wasn't liking the dynamic controls (mode that allows you to throw the plane around) because it felt too cartoon ish. To my knowledge they don't have this mode in the real fighters so I was turned off. But at the same token I don't know sh*t about fighter jets so I could be totally off the mark here.Empty V wrote:

No doubt. They take the cake for badassery. My boss flew them for the Air Force when he was in Saudi Arabia. He said they were way more fun then the newer jets. I guess the A10s are old school. You fly by the seat of your pants, with a stick in your hand.Bwana wrote:

How can you go wrong with this inside?
micro machines FTW!ScorchedNX2K wrote:When my brother and my friends played with micromachines when I was a kid I'd HAVE to have the A-10.
Any goody bits of info you can share with us?goody90q45 wrote:I was at Cape Canaveral last week for a launch that got scrubbed and managed to fit in a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. It's quite a place.
I've also spent a lot of time in a little corner of Edwards AFB at AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory). It's always fun to see the variety of aircraft that scream overhead with no real speed limits or height restrictions to slow them down.
