Have them on my s14. Better than stock. I personally had problems finding megan racing l.s. in stock when I ordered mine so I called KYB to see what they recommended. They (KYB) told me that the AGX's are made for the and work best with the stock 240sx springs... Also said anything lower would shorten the lifespan of the struts.

Just a FYI, call KYB if you like to confirm what I said or do what you like. I personally would have liked the slight drop of the MRLS but stuck with stock springs just so they would last longer.

if you're looking for actual performance kyb's (keep yourself bouncing's) are horrible. i've seen dyno tests done on them and the numbers look quite similar to megans, ask around what people's opinions are on them... on the otherhand if your just trying to drop your ride go for it... just advice though, ask to see a dyno on any setup you do end up getting, if they wont supply it, the product is most certainly garbage.

hahah

What a stupid biased answer Whats a dyno pull going to tell you about suspension? nothing.Clearly he is on a budget. These shocks would be perfect for him. He doesnt want to drift or anything fancy so therefore coilovers would suck. If your looking for an all around fun street car KYB struts are fine. I had them on my 300zx and I loved them.

theres nothing i said that was bias. it was all fact. and as for stupid, do some research, if im stupid you're retarded. im not talking bout dyno pulls, theres a thing called a shock dyno that measures compression and rebound rates of your shocks. megans and kyb's are notorious for having under par performance readings i.e. their rates are completely uneven and those so called adjustable knobs do nothing they are supposed to. megans kybs teins ksport and almost all of these other "JDM" setups are notorious for being korean garbage. thats why i said ask for a dyno for the setup youre getting. even koni will give you dynos of your product so YOU, the consumer know what your getting. but im sure youre far more interested in getting a lowered stance than having an actual quality product. this has nothing to do with motorsports, i said if hes looking for performance its a bad idea, if not then do whatever did i not? go cut youre springs you ricer piece of crap.

i bet you loved your kybs cuz they were super stiff and jdm tight right?

side note: its a safety thing too... 90% of ppl who get suspension setups decide to test them out from time to time. what do you think happens if you push it a little too far? you end up in a guard rail or wrapped around a tree.

i beg to differ, 90% of people buy coilovers to slam their cars as much as possible, not because of the performance. which is why entry level companies like ksport, megan, godspeed, etc. exist. remove your head from your a** and get off your high horse.

Thank you guys for all the inputs, I knew I will get the right response here.Im aware of the shorten life of stock shocks with lowering srpings, because after a couple of days of the LS been installed, they blew the shocks , I thought they would last a couple of months before I save for aftermarket shocks...So now, on to buy those KYB shocks for my DD!

i had agx's with tein lowering springs on my s13 before i had coilovers. i never wrapped myself around a tree, or in a guardrail. i had my agx's on my car more than 10k miles and they were and still are fine. my car diddnt "bounce" around or any of that bs that sxmeup said.

Like I said, I have them on my '96 and they are not as bouncy as stock. You will feel the difference but not a huge amount. They were less expensive than stock 240 struts when I bought them and in my opinion (which doesn't count for much) they are good. My first trial run was right after the installation. The car felt completely different (in a good way). I drove to the next town and back twice and then straight from Florida to North Carolina and back, it was a great ride and has been ever since. I go out and have fun with my car from time to time and I have had no issues. They have been on my DD for a little over a year now, and it is my only car so it gets driven a lot!

A quote from KYB back then "...the AGX's are made for the stock (OEM) spring size and not to go any lower than a 1.25" drop...

Here is a link to a post I made in the suspension area:KYB AGX's... How do you set yours?Basically trying to see how others set there AGX's based on their setup and modifications. Hope it helps some after you get yours installed.

The rear shocks on my S14 are blown as well, I have a set of KYB AGXs sitting in my uncle's shop while I'm waiting on the strut boots. I decided to go with the KYBs instead of Koni's.

I went with the KYB AGXs because its cheaper and living in Hawaii I'm not sure it would be worth the shipping cost to send it out to be rebuilt. I only drive about 4000 miles a year and since I have two 240SXs, it would only see about 2000 miles a year and about 10 autocross events.

I only compete in SCCA Solo II autocross in the G Stock class so I don't need the performance of Konis. There is enough slop in the stock suspension that I doubt that varations in manufacturer tolerances will be noticeable. In any case I can only compete regionally because I can't exactly drive my car across state lines to Nationals.

The main reason I wanted rear adjustable shocks is so when I replace the front sway bar in the future (one of the few modifications allowed by stock rules) I can dial out the understeer.

Another reason I went with the AGX is because the rears are adjustable while its mounted on the car, while Konis have to be removed unless you add on an external adjustment. Since my car sees street use this was pretty much a deal maker.

For my and probably the OPs useage, the extra $200 or so for Konis and the time and effort to get a matched set from a group buy or to rebuild them is a waste.
