okay, so we all know S13s are prone to having cracked dashes. well i guess my car just recently decided to join that club or something. kuz i got a hairline crack above my gauges (dont we all?) and one starting to form in the middle. so before this gets outta hand i was wondering if any of you know of any way to keep them from growing? i dont need it to be completely gone. i'll do that much later. but i need a temp easy fix to keep them from exposing all that brown crusty sh** under the vinyl stuff... HALP!!! i can't think of anything but maybe staples. but that'd look REALLY rugged for such a clean car :|

i agree - but i've already been scammed once on a dash - so i wouldn't mind picking this up from a reputable company.

it'd be new - no cracks, and probably a pretty low chance of it ever cracking during the life of the car.

Your second option would be much more expensive than the first. And if it's not upholstered by someone that is really good, it's going to look like crap.

I have that coverlay. It's a bit expensive, but it's easy to install and fits pretty well for what it is. I thought about all the other options too but this one seems the easiest and cheapest way.

not to mention if you do buy another one, it can crack just like your old one. And if Al Gore is right, it'll crack even faster

so you're the living proof that they hold up? :D yay!!! yep. sounds like i'm going that route. do u think i can get it in without removing my cage? (dash-escape cusco bolt in)? :| i have a feeling i'll have to take it out and then put it back in

I'd have to see a pic of your cage, but I would think it'd be fine, it's quite flexible.

Mine's been on for almost 2 years now and it's holding up just fine. Exactly the same as the day I received it.

Depending on how close your cage is you might be able to get away without taking out your cage. Even if you do have to take out part of your cage, I think it'd be well worth it to not see those annoying dash cracks.
