theres a guy selling a nice 92 240sx with decently low miles but cant figure out why the clutch fan isnt working/moving so it keeps overheating after it gets warmed up...i know i could get radiator fans but you guys have any thoughts??thanks in advance-this would be a sweet ride for under 1000

If you're sure that it's just the fan clutch then buy a new fan clutch and swap it out.

if the fan is not turning at idle or it's not turning very strong then you'll most likely need a new clutch for your fan. I actually just checked it on courtesyparts and it's 180 bucsk O.O

the actual fan has a clutch in it??hmm dual radiator fans could do very doable for 180 bucks..could i just rip the old fan off and hook up some electrics to fix the overheating most likely??its a nice full car besides it overheats

Two options...

1. Replace the clutch fan. ( the fan is bolted to the clutch, which is bolted to the water pump pulley.)

2. Get a set of electric fans, wire them up, and remove the clutch fan.

The easy way out is to find a friend or a local scrap yard that has a known good clutch fan and either buy cheap or steal from friend.

Clutch fans can be had for cheaper than 180 at rock auto. 60 bucks? or you can get a used one.
