In this case all that has to be touched is the connector because it seem the Q45 uses more pins than the I30. But according to the I30 service manual for your year it seems the seats get there power from the on/acc position. So really you just need a good car interior upholstery person to install the heated seat pads.

Now adding heated seats to a 1990-1993 Q45 that's a challenge because the place I want to mount the switches needs to be reinforced.
