I 2nd this! So true. I knew nothing about cars when I got my MK3 Supra. Went out and got a service book, did some home work on the internet, and before I knew it my car was done. Now I dont have to get raped by mechanics any more.Klits562 wrote:change the oilyou can learn anything about a car by working on itI knew nothing when i started working on itlearnded friends and the interwebz are a huge help
Baking Soda? Would of never thought of that. Thanks!Seanzyyy wrote:go for it dudei had an mk3 supra that i bought non-running that sat for 3 years.worked on it for about a month and got it up and running!it also had bad gas. what i did was removed the tank, dunked the pump housing in a tub of water and baking soda to clear up the lines, installed a new pump, cleaned the tank out of any dirt and it worked just fine.
and although it might seem like it'll take forever, the more days you spend just thinking about your dream car, the longer "forever" will take
Yeah I know what you mean. You won't know how to do it and learn how if you don't try. Ex I don't know how to drive a 5speed so my parents won't let me get one. But I can go through the sequence on how to drive one but have never tried it therefore I don't know how.Klits562 wrote:change the oilyou can learn anything about a car by working on itI knew nothing when i started working on itlearnded friends and the interwebz are a huge help
I will hopefully take some new pictures to post of the rust. The rust is right next to the sunroof and is bubbling and one of the "bubbles" cracked at the top. So I'm not sure how bad it is. I live in Florida so things don't rust as bad as up north. I have seen pictures of rust where it looks like a chunk of the car is missing. Mine is not that bad.wanganss13 wrote:did the rust go thrugh completely where you have rust holes? If not then go for it. Just sand it down till theres no rust, wipe down with acetone and paint her up. Good luck and I hope the rust is not that bad.
