I have a 2006 M35 sport with about 59k miles on it. I heard this noise for the first time on Monday morning after I started my car. When I revved the engine, it sounded like a bubbling liquid noise from behind my speedometer somewhere. It went away after about 30 secs. I heard it again for the 2nd time this afternoon. It is more clearly heard during acceleration. I did have my oil changed at the dealer about a week ago, other than that the car has not been worked on recently at all..........

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Coolant does not evaporate, right? So wouldn't that mean there is a leak? There is nothing on the floor of my garage..........The dealer wants me to come in and have it checked out for $120.00 an hour.

Thoughts?

I was quoted $120.00 an hour to check it out and then the flush is like another $150.........since im out of warranty, i decided not to pay dealer prices and i just dropped it off at a local shop down the street that charges $89 for the flush.

Hopefully it all works out and i dont get screwed.

***UPDATE***

I just got my car back from the local shop........they pressurized it and said there are no leaks, but they heard the sound as well. They added some coolant and said to drive it a couple of days and see if that helped. If not than I will go back there and have them flush it.

Best part........the did not charge me at all..

hopefully, it will go away, or hopefully it just needs a good flushing........If anyone else has had this issue, please advise..

There's a bleed that you need to unscrew at the back of the engine. open it when the engine is cold and poor in the coolant not at the resevior, but at the filler neck.

Also - replace your filler neck/radiator cap. It has springs and rubber seals that may look good, but under heat and pressure fail. they are check - $20 or so from the dealer - don't get a cheapo autozone one that was probably made in china by a fly by night operation. If it says Nissan/infiniti on it then it is iso9XXX whatever certified and you should not have fitment /operational issues.

As you are driving down the highway place hvac system into "auto" mode and alternate adjusting temperature setting from the coldest{60 degrees?} up to the max temperature{85 degrees?} this opens and closes the heater core{where you are hearing the gurgling coming from behind the dash} and causes coolant to move through the core and burps the system of the air bubbles causing the noise.....may take a couple days to completely burp the system and totally eliminate the gurgling. Keep an eye on coolant level in overflow tank as it will drop as the system is purged of air. This is a common occurance on old Q45's and the above procedure has ALWAYS cured it.

I had the same thing on my '06x. Turned out to be a loose fitting near the heater core. They tightened it and flushed the cooling system. It gurgled for another day until the air purged itself. I've had all the TSB issues (tramlining, steering groan, unability to fill gas tank more than 1/2 full, loose drivers seat) so this was a relatively easy one.

These are air bubbles in the system. I took mine to the dealer and they did it free. No charge...minor issue easy to fix, no need to worry though...
