So I just bought a Q45 for $800. From what I can tell this car needs a rear passenger window motor, the sun roof wont open, fenders, rear drivers side quarter, the heaed seats wont work and the steering feels like its not power assisted. It also needs a passenger side quarter glass and rear glass. The interior is real clean and the car has about 157k on it. I understand that the body work and glass are just what they are but does anyone have any ideas about the other stuff? I dont know if its fuses or motors for the window, Heated seats and sunroof and with the steering I dont know if it needs a new power steering box or if the rack and pinon is gone. Any advice would help so I dont have to pay $75 an hour for the diagnostic.

All this can be found and replaced easily with the exception of the quarter panel and rear glass. The rear glass has built in antenna that is interfaced with the radio and keyless entry and costs about $1000.

To fix the sun roof see this: http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=215858

To fix the heated seats see the service manual that came with your car or go here: Nicoclub.com/FSM

Is your car an active Q45?

I ask because if it is it may be just a matter of replacing the instrument cluster. If not then you can search NICO to to find the posts.

But is the power steering fluid full and clean? Are there any leaks in the power steering system?

I know its none of my business but I think you need to make the car drivable before you add air suspension to your car: zer...91538.

Welcome to NICO.

We need to charge a monthly fee to join NICO.

Totally serious.

How many 800 dollar q45 car owners are out there? It staggers the mind.

NICO did once charge a fee to join but that was to cover the server costs because NICO was just starting out.

Never did. There was a volutary donation for a time (hence I am a "Supporter").

Meditate on how and why a once selling $51,000 vehicle is now available for $800. Even if you remove the $4,000 dealer profit, $4,000 manufacturers profit, and federal gas guzzler tax some where a real $40,000 was used up or nearly so. Corrected for inflation [47%] it is significantly more.

MANY TIMES THE IDEAL SOLUTION IS TO BUY 2-3 SAME YEAR SAME COLOR AND MAKE ONE................and sell the unused parts.

Why not just purchase a newer, more modern, less worn vehicle........I personally think you must be half nuts or extremely naive to purchase a 15-20 year old lux barge for daily transportation.
