Hello everyone,

Want to thank a lot of you all for helping me with problems and questions I had about my baby in the past... I did some research on the forum and did not find much on this annoying problem which recently started..

My car stalls / rough idles sometimes at start up other times after being off for about 10 - 15 mins I try to start her back up and same thing.

I will be taking it to the dealer soon, however am curious if someone has gone through this before..

I give her the best gas, change her oils often, I will be changing her air filter out tomorrow... its a bit dirty but i dont think this could be the problem could it ?...

My car has 33,000 miles on her currently. I am going to take her to the dealer to get my radio changed out since it " searches for a cd" they told me they would change it out and look at the stalling problem they also quoted me

450.00 for the 30k service which they claim consist of

Engine oil & filter service - recently done

Tire rotation - recently done

Wheel balance - checked

Brake inspection - brand new pads front and back

Replacement of the air filter - doing tomorrow

Replacement of the vent filter - just did today

Replacement of the wiper blades - brand new blades

Battery service, (top off fluid, clean terminals, and charge/test condition) = checked

Fuel injection service - What does this consist of exactly ?

Idle speed adjustment - is this not done with the fuel injection service?

Tire pressure adjustment - checked

Lube all door locks and body hinges - i need this

Inspect brakes, belts, filters, fluids, tires, lighting and tires - I do this as often as i Can

Only things from the 30k service i dont feel comfortable doing would be the fuel injection service and the idle speed adjustment.. how much would be a fair price for this and the lubing of the hinges and doors?

Thanks for your help,

Tom

do the flush. It's around $150 here in AZ, I believe. you might also add a can of HEET or similar to absorb any water that might be in your gas tank (not sure where you live, but bad gas might be your problem...)

But since it also might be clogged injectors, the flush might cure it.

I just recently added a can of bg 44k about 500 miles ago the problem had occured prior to me putting in the bg 44k, so i know that was not the cause of the problem, however would it be safe to also add the heet so soon after i added the bg 44k ?

What is better Iso-Heet or just regular Heet?

$450 is pretty steep for a service. 90% of the services listed can be done by yourself.

BG doesn't absorb water - get 2 bottles of HEET - MAKE sure you get the "YELLOW" bottle of heet....it is pure methanol and does the best job. after that tank get a bottle of Techron Concentrate - $12 at a chevron gas station and run that through a tank.

It is also a good idea to do a learn procedure for pedal position, throttle position, and idle air volume learn to avoid any of those ruff starts. It could be your coolant sensor is malfunctioning telling the ecu it is warmer out than it is causing the ruff start as well.

These are things you can look into or tell the dealership about and they can check it out. Only other thing I can think about would be a vacuum leak but that'd be rare.
