Fuel economy factors Part 1

Some one should spend the time to measure the EXACT factors on the 90-93 Q45 unlowered with 215 front tires.

It's ashamed my Nissan contacts have retired since the full wind tunnel test are still in files somewhere.

I will try to send a few BEGGING emails just maybe they will take pity on us?

It would really be interesting to see the exact lift and down pressure vs MPH on oem rear spoiler. But then again few of us drive 120+ mph any longer.

In theory a series of coast down speed tests in neutral could be accurate if the road were perfectly level.................but then the tire drag and bearing drag, diff, drive shaft, transmission in neutral still drive internal pump, etc.

Performance tires are the exact opposite of good MPG tires.

I laugh at all these ads for fuel efficient tires lately. Tons and tons of sacrifices in all important areas of the tire for a barely measurable gain in fuel consumption. The savings are measured across the life of the tire...30000+ miles since they're rock hard. At that point the "gains" become pointless.

Everytime I think about automobile drag coefficient one car stands out:

The 1935 Tatra T77 (0.212 Cd)
