In december's issue of Import Tuner (the cover has 2 s15's and the title says Drag vs Drift). The Mazworx s15 uses a bored sr20det block (bored to 2.2) but uses the front wheel drive, naturally aspirated sr20ve head. With modifications to the head the sr20 is able to rev up to 11,000 rpm. The sr20 uses a garrett GT4718R turbo. No one knows the horsepower or torque because the s15 maxed out on every dyno. It is estimated 1,400 hp and 700 torque. The car runs a 7.3 at 185mph consistently. That is the basic summary, but who would have thought of using a FWD head. And I was wondering is the sr20det with a ve head going to become a normal swap. The article is very interesting and detailed in both the drag and drift segments.

Not really into the drag scene, but damn I'd love to feel that turbo hit full boost. Gotta respect it

The VE head is being used because of the Rocker on Shaft design and solid lifters. Its far superior to the floating rocker arms that the SR RWD head has. The problem with the VE head is making an intake manifold and i think something with the VVL setup. Mazworx sells everything and for $1400 for a manifold, its not a cheap thing to do. He has alot of write up on the head swap on Fresh Alloy. Hes definitly the best SR builder in the country IMO.

That thing is a monster! I want them to build my sr so bad but I've been trying to contact them with no luck. They probably don't need my business, but it would be nice.

I saw the magazine and literally had to buy it. Both of the s15's were amazing examples of how sick s15s are. Now we just need them in america lol

What mazworx did with that car was no stock S15 chasis. Its a full tube chasis with a S15 shell over top. Has nothing to do with the original car anymore. All S chasis's are about the same and can be made to perform the same. Maz's car is a dedicated drag car with a S15 look. Thats about it.
