already saying my sorry for asking this cause, it might be not a very good question but i found the thread about coilovers and such on this sticky, but i cant really find a (dumb guy) version. basically, with pics, what adjust what. what lowers it, makes it more stiff, rebound, all those sweet tech words but really just an average guy tryin to learn just the basics on how to tune them a little because i plan on getting some in the next month or two.thank you very much

camber is the amount that your tires tilt in or out, measured in degrees, read the stickies on the top of the suspension forum

so to adjust the height, do you have to unmount the bottom of the coilover from the wheel area? Or do you just loosen the lower collar and spin the "black" part using gloves until its at the desired height? higher you go = lower the car is...correct?

You do not need to un-mount the bottom of the coilover, you can do this with it still mounted.

And yes...loosen the collar and adujust the hieght you desire. The higher you going the lower the car will be.

one last thing, could you please tell me on what you remove to make them go just a tad lower, i heard that you can remove some kind of collar or something that will lower it another half inch or so.....

some coilovers have helper coils that you can remove to lower it

but i think your question is in regards to the collar removal

ok so lets say your got whatever preload you want to run on already

and the spring bottom collar is butting up against the collar that holds in the mounting point to the spindle

what you do is you take off the top collar that holds in the mounting point and but up the mounting point directly do the bottom spring collar

doing that you can lower your car whatever the width of the collar was

i would suggest getting coilovers that go as low as you want them to go and still operate within manufacturing specs.
