Hello everyone....I'm a new owner and have only been surfing these forums since I bought my '04 Garnet Fire 6MT sedan last Friday.

While at the dealership yesterday having something looked at, I asked for any service history they had on the car and was given a 3 page printout. While looking through it, I realized that my car has already had both the clutch and transmission changed out, and she only has 58k on the clock right now. The transmission was done about 10k ago, in Jan. of this year, and the clutch was replaced about a year before that. I can only assume that this isn't normal, but was wondering if anyone else has had issues? The tech's note on the transmission said they found the sync fork to be faulty.

Congratulations on the new to you G. The garnet is a great color.

It sounds like your car has at least seen the dealer throughout its life before you two were introduced. That is always a good thing, it seems like it might be owned by someone who payed close attention or was picky about things.

The manual transmissions in the first model G have been updated a few times and may have been replaced for noise instead of a mechanical failure. I have seen many main bearing start to make some noise requiring replacement of the unit.

Don't stress it too much. You may want to look into getting an Infiniti Elite warranty just be on the safe side.

Enjoy.
