Hello everyone. I'm a new owner and new to the forums here. I just bought my 2004 Garnet Fire 6MT sedan last Friday, and I have to say I am loving it so far. I had to go to the dealership yesterday to figure out why my TPMS light had come on (a nail in the tire, diagnosed and fixed for FREE!), and while I was there I asked for any service history that they could give me. What kind of has me wondering/worried is that the car has less than 58k miles on it, but appears to have had both the clutch AND transmission changed out already!?! Being so new to this car, I'm not sure how concerned I should be about it, but I wondered if this is at all common?I also saw several service calls for the alarm going off on its own, as well as a couple for battery drain. I know I've seen some threads on those though, so I'll get to work with the search link and see what I can find there.Anyways, just wanted to say Hi and I look forward to finding out all I can about this car.

Welcome to NICO

Not to worry.

I have 99k miles on my clutch. There are some that are quite abusive to their vehicles. If driven properly a clutch should be good for 100 to 200k miles.

I did have the clutch slave cylinder replaced along with new clutch fluid under the warranty at 92k miles for a sticking clutch pedal that did not come all the way up. This only occurred on hot summer days with temperatures between 95 and 100*

Enjoy your G

Don't worry Be happy

Thanks for the reply. I know a clutch should be able to go many many miles before needing to be replaced, as I didn't have to replace the stock clutch in my Miata until almost 150k and that was with a LOT of red line shifting fun on it. I was just worried if this was a common occurance, or if I should just chalk it up to getting a couple defective parts.
