  S14 kouki custom grill

**This is a hand-made product so it is not going to be perfect as if it was cut from a CNC but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Every grill is made with pride and fitted on my kouki s14 to insure correct fitment.** $45 shipped They are all primered and painted flat black. They are ready-to-be installed with double sided tape is included and a riveted bracket to mount to the hood latch 12mm bolt.

Some of you remember me making a custom grill for my s14 a while back if you don't here's the thread:
http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=343695

I've had a lot of people give me compliments about it at meets, school, and everywhere else and I have been asked numerous times to make more for their s14's lol

well I tried to reproduce them but I always ran into small fitment issues here and there where I had to start with a different approach to get each grill to be almost identical to each other. Today I had some time and I somehow just got the urge to start working on this again and actually made something that was pretty nice. I made two of them today, one which is going to remain a template but i actually painted the other one and mounted it on my car as a "test" grill to see how it holds up. I'm no experienced fabricator but I take pride in my work and I think I did a pretty good job with your basic hand tools.

OFF TO PAINT!

first coat of primer:

second coat of primer:

final coat of flat black:

I'm not a fan of the OEM 240sx grill and the JDM grill can be up to 150 bucks out the door (give or take) I like the "grill-less" look but I hate the fact that you can see the ugly bumper bolts and the sides of the headlights when taking off the OEM grill.

The OEM grill have little slits for air ventilation which is probably ok, but the area is definitely opened up taking off the grill so more air can enter.
Stock OEM: (JDM is the same except for a mesh style)

Finished product:

This new grill is actually a big different than the first one i made way back in that other thread. I had this grill angled down towards the bumper to reduce any gaps and the bend down the middle makes the sheet metal A LOT more sturdier. As of right now it is held on by the hood latch bolt alone but it is also held down by the hood itself. 3M double-sided tape would be the better approach to hold this thing down but I might leave that up to the customer's discretion...rest assured this thing is not going anywhere at high speeds as long as the hood is properly closed(you have bigger things to worry about if your hood is not closed while you're on the freeway lol)

So tell my what you think guys and if you're interested hit me up, I'm still gauging some interest

Haha looks great man, I like the look of your grill better than that of the JDM one, and I'm sure it provides more flow to the rad.

lol zenki might be next but i'll need a zenki to work with

it is galvanized metal which was thorougly prepped and cleaned before paint. The paint went on nice but I'm gonna see how the paint holds up daily driving it for a while.

ummmm I'm not entirely sure yet lol cuz I just made it today and I don't consider it done yet. I want to get a few more things like some metal edge protectors so the hood seal doesn't get all cut up.

In zenki the gap seems to be bigger, I don't know whether it would look good. In OP's kouki it looks cool. Can you take a picture from a distance?

alright i trimmed it down a bit so it doesn't chew up the hood seal like it was before and I put some double-sided tape on the bottom and it is firmly in place

So it looks like it's officially done, I'm gonna see how everything holds up after a while of daily driving.

dittoz, the next one i make will be for you so you'll be the first one to get a grill lol.

frank, trade me your kouki hood and we got a deal

Wait, what are we trading again? Hoods? LOL. I doubt u would want my hood after you see it in person, theres no scratches on it but just some spots where the clearcoat is fading because of the sun. (Nothing some elbow grease and some polish cant get rid of) Besides I kinda like my hood, its the only thing that makes my car different from Dittoz.

I made a template for a zenki one after I saw what you did awhile back. Don't have it right now because it is on my sisters computer and she moved out. It is made on CAD. I will give her a call and see if she can email me a screen shot or whatever and post it up.

Edit: ok she is gonna email it to me in a PDF form or something. There was one little tweak I needed to do but I cant remember what it was.
