Guy blew his stop sign yesterday while I was making a left. Fortunately I had the right of way and it looks like he's definitely going to be at fault.

Anyway, here are some pictures. Think it's totaled? I haven't had a estimate on it yet, insurance company is coming out today. 1999 with 120k on it, no options except auto and 4x4.

I'm hoping there's a lot of mechanical damage from that wheel being hit so hard, because the body damage has only gotten up to $3500.

That'll buff out.

I was going to buy a 2000 Pathy when I bought my Q but he wrecked it the weekend before we made our decision. It was similar to yours and the damage was $5,000, so you probably aren't totaled out.

I can't believe that it blew the tread right off the tire!

Oh hell yeah thats totalled, guarantee they total that out

They total ANY car when the damage exceed 70% of its value, how much can that car be worth??

If the body damage alone is $3500, theres obviously suspension parts, mounts etc that need replacing, which arent cheap.

If you "want" it to be totalled, go give them headlight a smack with a hammer, add another $500 onto the bill lol

But ya, Id put money on thats totalled

EDIT: what did the guy above mean by blowing the tread off the tire? I dont see it

I'd guess totaled too. If you were just hit on the front and the impact also damaged the door, then there is most likely frame damage. Time on a frame machine is expensive.

Oh, and the impact was certainly very strong - the treads blew right off the tire!

my uncles silverado got in a nice front end collision, the insurance gave too much for repairs but sent it direct to the shop...so the owner threw on a billet grille, side steps, bug deflector, euro taillights....sometimes it benefits you lol

Here in California that number is actually closer to 50% !!

CJD91, Make sure you get AT LEAST 4500.... cause thats how much you would get with Obamas new "cash for clunkers" program !!

To all the smart asses, a brand new set of Dunlops were in the mail the day this happened. I had to refuse them and now I'm waiting for the refund to be put on my credit card. Thank God I didn't blow $500 on tires only to have it totaled. You guys are looking at it the wrong way!

But yeah I sure hope to hell it's totaled.

BTW that headlight is a goner because the mounting brackets are all broken and the rear of the it smashed. Plus it needs a new grille and I'm hoping the hood is warped.

Yeah man that's at least 5 grand worth of damage. If you can talk the guy into paying for it out of pocket, then you can keep your pathy and have it like new. when my old jimmy got smashed, i talked the guy into paying for it cash and the whole rear end of my car got replaced AND i got a new paint-job which was bad a**! If you file an insurance claim and get the car fixed, then it will have a salvage title and won't be worth jack s***....I'm waiting for someone to sideswipe me so i have an excuse for a new paint job.
