Finally decided to replace the tattered dust covers on the rear shocks. Instead of ordering the $60 parts from Joe, I decided to check out the local 4-Wheel Parts store to see if they had an alternative. They had several different colors at $3.99 each. I went with the light blue to match the shocks. I trimmed the old dust covers from the bumpers to reuse them. Let me know what you think.

Okay, I wish the hell I'd seen that before I bought the ones I did. $60 for the pair of them did rather hurt. Though I do wonder if the rather large reinforced section on mine might make a difference?

And that is a nice avatar, I found that picture using Google Image Search ages ago and had it as my desktop wallpaper for a while before I finally got my Q.

For what you paid, you did very well. I bought mine from Joe too. Mine were deteriorated so I didn't know what size I needed to match them up with something else. My Q is an Active car so they are a different part number than all the other Q45s.

Old bumpers are shot by virtue of degraded rubber. That's why they are customarily replced with new.

Actually, upon inspection of the bumpers, I found them to be in very good condition. I don't recall ever bottoming out my car either. Here is the photo of the assembled coil-over... and yes those are cut springs. 1.5" drop in the back and 2" lowering springs in the front.

How are the cut springs working for you? I was thinking of doing this myself

You maybe want some tokico/eibach combos? There are no dust boots on them for some stupid reason so ill flip them cheap.Car rode nice tho. A LOT nicer than cut springs. I did that before too....BIIIIG Mistake i felt.

Cut springs are usually a bit degrading in ride quality and safety.
