I've got an '02 pathfinder that I installed a K&N FIPK on 300 or so hundred miles ago, yesterday it threw an SES light. Had it scanned and it came up as P1130 code for the swirl control valve.
My mechanic looked it over and said it has something to do with a vacuum line going to the swirl control vacuum check switch. Basically his diagnosis was that after I installed the K&N there was less vacuum in the intake tube due to the free flowing filter, and therefore the 2 vacuum lines that are connected to the lower side of the intake tube are not functioning correctly. He suggested taking a T fitting and connecting it to one of the vacuum lines on the VIAS/SCV solenoid and hooking the vacuum line from the SCV check switch to that as opposed to the intake tube. Does this make sense? Or should I just pull the lines and clean them out. The code hasn't come back so we'll see. Thanks.
