Like most of you out there I have a badly cracked dash. Some people can ignore it. But I see it every time I drive my car. I looked at the dash cap, but the shipping was killer, and the fit and finish is so-so. So I decided to get it wrapped. I wanted leather, but the upholsters warned that it would shink in the sun. So then I wanted suede to be like the top rally cars for cutting glare, but they said that it wouldnt streach enouph for the curvey dash. so I ended up with a vinyl...It cost $200 for the whole thing. When I picked it up they told me, it was suck a bit*h to wrap, and for me to not tell anyone where I had it done because they will never do another one. Here is the finished product, I am wondering if red painted vents would help the stich to pop out. Or if it would be too much?

leave the vents alone. The red would take away from the dash

this is going to be your challenge. even on its own its so-so, but to pull that kind of work off in your car the rest of your stuff needs to look the same. you were probably better off spending 200 bux on a clean used perfect condition dash. either way tho im interested in seeing the final outcome. they should have fixed the cracks at least before they wrapped the dash. not hating on your project just being realistic

Cool idea, but I think the shop you brought it to did a horrible job.

Better than seeing the crack that is, because that is hiding the crack... Not better than new, new isnt cracked. When the vinyl is all faded in 3 months, your dash will still be cracked, and then you are stuck with a faded and cracked dash.

Not my taste but definitely a good solution. Leave the vents black, just clean the dust off them

I agree^ I would have went with black thread, but thats just my taste. The idea is there, but it seems they got mad and just said "good enough" without really taking time and focusing on some details.

200! wow. Could have went with black stitching. the red kind a makes it look gross. with that money, you could have gotten a dash locally.

Don't know what it looked like before but looks good now...I just don't like the red stitching. ALL BLACK would have been sweet!

I apoligize for not clerifing. I gat a second dash that was uncracked from another nico member for $20, but its brown and black. I would have gotten a black uncracked dash. But how long till it cracks? All these dashes are 20 years old now. So I wanted to do something that looks good, and that few have done to 240's. I chose red stich to show off thats its wraped, and because my car is red. Next thing will proble be to wrap center console to match, and mabe if I have too much money sitting around I might wrap all the plastics around the windows, and door panels.

idk I like it. could have done a better job, like the vent on the drivers side isnt flush due to stitching, but get the rest of your interior matching and I think itll look good. wonder how it would look on an s14 dash?
