About two weeks ago i got my first car and before i got it home the clutch went bad about 2 minutes away from my house. It took about a week working like every other day on it to swap the clutch and cost about $530. At first my friends and me worked on it and we just couldn't get the transmission bolted back on so my dad hired this guy to do it and i helped him and he charged us $400. From the start there was some kind of electrical problem, but was not sure what it was at first. The problem first started when we were about to leave with the car to my house. The EGI fuse buzzed and would only start when we jumped it. So back to when we fixed the clutch we took it out for a spin (jumping it to start) then when we got back i think the engine was giving off engine smoke, the guy who my dad paid said it was normal. Then we found an oil leak, the guy said the front oil seal needed to be replaced. Then later on that night i had my friend come over and I wanted him to take it out for a spin, but when we jumped started it then took the cables off the car would die in about like a minute. Now this is when it would of been good for me to remember the EGI fuse was buzzing. So we just put the car back in the garage and slept on it. The next day my dad and me went to auto parts shop to get this extra alternator tested (it tested good) and to buy the front oil seal. Then the next day i replaced the alternator and we jumped my car and let it sit for a little while to charge up and took the cables off then later on died. Then a couple days later my friend comes over and we go out and buy a volt meter and he brought his car battery charger and we charged the battery and the dome light, left and right turn signals, and ash tray light blink on and off. The next day we try and start it, NOTHING. So we jump it and the EGI fuse buzzes but the car still didn't start, then we go out and buy another fuse, which fixed the car dying problem but the car still won't start. We then call the auto parts store and they tell us to try and push start it, which totally worked, but then we saw that the odometer does not work. Now i am stuck with a car that doesn't start by itself. Any ideas?
