Who's vert has the most power? I found my self thinking this as i start to take my motor out and rebuild the beast? So i'm just not sure who has the most. Now i do know that 110octanes vert is putting down some good numbers but there was also that rhd vert from canada that i belive he was going rb30. I did do a search but really counld't get the answer as you can imagine when you type whp or hp you get a lot of topics that come up in the vert section alone.

thought i'd post this to bring in a new topic to the vert forum.

this is going to be good.

you shouldve set some rules like.

- Exterior Photo- Engine bay photo- Motor type- Turbo spec - Fuel type- Dyno Type- Torque / horse power

otherwise its a chat fest.

I'm not sure, as my numbers are only theoretical (G-Tech, and numbers gleaned from other, nearly identical builds).

I know Mickey's VQ is strong, but I think I have it beat, especially if I crank up the boost... not really a "fair fight", since he's N/A.

As soon as I can get it in for new engine management, I will have dyno numbers - I'm probably leaving a TON of power on the table because of a VERY conservative tune.

It goes back to the tuner on a Mustang Dyno soon as I figure out my voltage problem, since I catch so much flack for my numbers being from a Dynojet. Its also on a coil on plug set up now, so it will rev higher and this tuner is better then that last so we'll see how it goes.

Yea, I would say there are probably quite a few turbo vert's out there putting down more horse power than mine.......currently.

However, I did just do a full VQ35DE motor build including blueprint and balance on the VQ. I buffed up fuel and oiling systems and am in the final stages of wiring in the new Haltech stand alone. Once she fires we'll be on our way to the dyno.

Stay Tuned!

That would be one serious N/A VQ motor to be the man to beat. I hope I'm missing the post where he's throwing boost to that thing.

No boost on Mickey's ride, so he shouldn't be tough to beat.

Sorry Mick - Yours is still the sexiest - no question.

holemilk has me beat, I'm sure.

Nope, No boost.......yet. It's just a phone call away though if you want to turn this into a "mines bigger than yours" contest.

My personal goal is to make 300hp/300tq to the wheels NA. Once that goal is satisfied I'd like to consider boost. The motor is ready for it.

The ITB's are on the shelf in the garage and soon to be up for sale.

Only time will tell whats in store for the car.

No thanks!

Hell, even with all the power mine makes, it still gets slapped around in a stoplight tango... No traction pwns me.

Makes for an awesome smokescreen though!

Not at all trying to get in a pissing contest. I was looking at your car at sema with the ITB's and at the time I was working for a shop that all we did was VQ's. It was a pretty interesting conversation between our RnD guys and I about the set up. I have to be honest, it was a sick set up, but we were all arguing about how it would work out in practice. Either way I figure you're well aware that your car will remain legendary for a while.

What are you looking at as far as a turbo set up goes? I'm going to go out on a limb and say it would have to be a full custom project, and I'm sure a show stopper if you go that route.

As for my car, no worries about it for a while, I was chasing a voltage drain, and in my pulling of parts and interior I realized that the top of my window frame where the top mates to it was rusted pretty badly under the rubber molding, so since I was planning to pull it all the way down and sand blast it soon anyway, I went ahead and started the process. So for now I'll have to just bench/keyboard race on memories of what a running car feels like, or get off my a** and finish my RB30 car.

haha you ain't kidding man, I figured with the added weight that my vert would hook better then my coupe, but its a completely different story.

What we really should do is post drag times in here. That would get some good laughs going. For instance, I managed to pull a 12.88, but hears the kicker, my 60ft was a 2.8 hahaha. Lesson learned, Nitto INVO's are the worse tires ever.

For drag racing maybe They were made for luxury and exotic cars for a nice ride while being able to produce some grip every once in a while. The main selling point is that they are silent.

Oh I'm aware of what they were aimed at in the market, but I'm here to tell you, they aren't quiet, they don't ride nice, and they NEVER grip. haha

They're phenomenal on my s/c G Coupe.

In removing all the weight from the rear of my vert, I've pretty much guaranteed it won't ever hook up at launch.

Over 400 lbs came out of this car... top assembly, pump, rams, rear seat, door glass, window motors, every bit of unneeded wiring, pillars, speakers, stereo, A/C, bumper supports, and loads more.

Hahaha....I was just being facitious(sp?) guys.

I have been on the "I just want to drive this car" kick lately and am really motivated to finish it up. I am sick and tired of looking at an immobile car in my garage. But now that I am getting a lot of the small issues worked out I can't help but think that maybe a b****in' custom single turbo set up isn't to far off on the horizon.

At any rate, keep playin' with your verts boys and keep pushing the envelope.

Dyno sheets to come soon.

P.S Invo's are crap. Sorry Greg.

Here's mine with the old setup I sold a month or so ago. Maybe not the most powerful, but alot of fun non the less!!!

This shows my three boost settings over layed on the same plot. The final number was 405rwhp @ 22psi and about 330lb/ft tq @6500rpm. The turbo is a t3/04e 60/63. All stock internals minus head gasket, studs and rocker stoppers.
