I have been looking high and low for a set of coilovers for my 240Z. The car will be primarly for drag but retaining some streetablity. I don't want to do a fully tubbed rear with solid axel and 4link, just a set of good coilovers.

Any push in the right direction would be appreciated!

coil overs in the s30 involves modifying the strut housing to accept the threaded sleaves and percheshttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=237090I got mine fomr Ground controlazc sells a kit but their kit involves cutting the tube form the knuckle and welkding in their threaded sleve, the beneift to their kit is the ride height is adjustable without effecting preloadhttp://www.arizonazcar.com/coil.htmlbeta motorsports also sells a kitbeta motorsports sells a complete kit with struts already modified and wth the "biscuit" type camper plate which makes their system a complete bol in

msa also sells a complete kit that uses the bolt in biscuit type plates but you still have to cut off the stock spring pearch and weld on the stop collar for the threaded sleevehttp://www.thezstore.com/page/...-4123

modern motorsports sells a basic kit but does not include camber plateshttp://www.modern-motorsports....id=12

techno toy tuning sells the GC coil over setup, but they also sell their own camber plates which are cheaper than the GC camber plats, neither includes the camber plates wiht the coil overshttp://technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=582

and you can get GC's kit direct, the advantage beign that they offer gret technical support to help you choose the right spring rates for your applications, they can also sell you strruts and other parts as needed even helpign you get the correct strut gland nut for an exotic insert selection such as the mr2 struts I run in my sectioned housings (see the strutsectioning 101 link at the top)

doesn't appear that you looked very hard

I'm still making my way through the strut thread over on hybridz, which springs did you go with? I'm planning on going with 200 fr and 250 rr but I'm still looking at the shock options. I am thinking the Illumina's will be good and my friends that have S13's and AE86's have had good luck with the KYB AGX shocks. I haven't to find the AGX for either the MR2 or Z in the correct years.

This will be mostly street but I will likely be doing more autoX and drift skid pad with my friend's shop. I'm not going to do a full track drift until I try skid pad. There may also be grip sessions at tracks like Buttonwillow and Thunderhill

for alignment I am thinking T3 tension rods and biscuit camber adjusters up front and probably offset control arm bushings in the rear for camber and toe-in

What have you been running? have you been happy?

Thanks, yeah 440 sounds a bit on the stiff side for what I'm looking for. It's nice to hear you're happy with the Illumina's after reading they're supposedly not as good with rates above 250.

Those CCW wheels are awesome

the techs at GC insisted they could take as much as 500 lb/in, granted they might not live as long as the koni or he ads at those rates but they cost a fraction as much

Thanks evildky, I've got some Illumina's used coming with some used Eibachs (200 fr/225 rr).
