I was supposed to have my wheels repaired by the dealership when i was having my 30k mile service and tires and brakes put on. Well after 3 days they said the guy is so backed up he can't do it and they can't hold the car any longer.

They gave me his direct number to make an appointment. Now I assume this is just a contractor who works for the dealership, right? He doesn't actually work for the dealership full time repairing rims?

They quoted me 125 per wheel which I figure is standard.

I'm also interested in getting them painted/powdercoated in hyper-silver instead of whatever that factory color is.

I'm in the DC area. If anyone has a place they can suggest I'm all ears.

More than likely he is a contractor that works for the dealership. They are probably a Mobile Wheel repair that comes in and repairs the wheels on property and the dealership will charge you a fee for that. The reason I know is I am actually about to have mine repaired and the Infiniti dealership close to me told me they would charge a fee doing it through them. They gave me the number to call and I am doing it outside of the dealership. I am getting mine done Monday and they will come to my work and repair them right on site. I am paying $425 total including tax for all four of mine. I am getting them painted back to the factory Sport wheel specs. They might even use the same company as they are nation wide. Below is the link to their website. You can search for one in your area. The Infiniti dealership said they do a great job and reccomend them. I will let everyone know how they did come Monday after they repair mine. Mine are not that bad, but I hit a curb a couple days ago really hard and have a huge scratch on one of them. They said it would be no problem to fix it. I like how confident they feel about the repair and said all four will look like new. They can probably paint them back to whatever color you want. Good luck and let all of us know who you use and how good of a job they did.

Thanks for the response.

I've seen a few of these mobile repair things.

So can you request that they paint your wheels a different color? I'm really trying to go something lighter than stock.

125 a wheel is not standard. I was charged 100 per wheel, and mine were pretty scratched up. (PM me if you're interested in before and after pics).

I took my car to A+ Detailing and Alloy wheel repair‎ in Fairfax. (aplusdetailing.com) They did a good job.

I'd love to see pics. You can email them to me at [email protected]

And will that place finish off with a different color if I ask them? Do they provide any powdercoating services? Thanks a lot.

Here are the two that I know of. They restore the factory wheels to original condition. As you mention, the OEM wheel for the M35 sport is a 19 in. dual 5 spoke wheel that is powder coated in a hypersilver finish. These quick repair vans at dealerships spray the repaired area of the wheel in a laquer finish and over time it yellows and dulls out! Here are the two guys to use:

Do yourself a favor and buy a spare wheel and refinish as they get damaged.

I just worked with a local company that has done for 15 years here in Charlotte. Only charged me $75. He was excellent. Be careful, there are a lot of people out there doing it with subpar products.Prince Wheel Repair. I had him do my Sport rim and my dad's Lexus 430 wheels. The dealership is upcharging I am sure.

If you have rim rash the only way to do it right is to send it to Keystone for a refinish. Mobile guys will make it worse.

I got in touch with these guys. http://mobilewheelrepair.com/

I met up with the owner in my area and he said he does work for all the INFINITI, Mercedes, Acura, LEXUS, TOYOTA, NISSAN, & BMW dealerships. He did all four of my wheels for $100 each. All of my wheels had some curb rash and scuffs on the faces. I was very happy with the results. Here's some photos.

I also brought my car to A+ and they did an excellent job! $80 bucks... plus they have a discount coupon on their website for first-time customers.
