I snagged a set of Infiniti G35 wheels for my I35. My stock wheels were pretty rough... lots of curb rash. Plus I didn't really like the design too much.

These are from an 04 G35 coupe. The offsets are a little lower on the coupe wheels. They fit really nice, but to be perfect, I might add a spacer on the rear.. perhaps 10mm or so. They are painted gunmetal.

Here is a closeup with the new brake. They are slotted only, and the pads are axxis ultra.

The only problem i'm having so far is that the center caps on the front wheels don't fit on. The axle extends just a bit too far. I'm considering chopping off about an inch on the end. I'm not sure if that's a good idea though.

Nice upgrade. The contrast looks good.

You can always buy a couple more center caps if you ruin them trying to make them fit. I'd probably go for it and see what happens.

I might be able to shave a small fraction off the inside of the center caps, but nowhere near enough. If these caps are going to fit, I need to get out the grinding wheel and chop an inch off the axle tip.

I like the rims as well. I haven't seen any G wheels that didn't look good on a Max.

Those are G35 coupe wheels that I put on. I think they are 17x7.5 +30 and 17x8 +33

I'll sell my old I35 alloys cheap if you want them.

So the stock offset was 40mm and you went to 30 and 33? How did that change effect the ride and handling? What were you thinking for your old Factorys? Thanks

A lower offset and a slightly wider wheel will have a negligible impact on ride and handling. In theory, wider wheels and lower offsets will make the car more stable and help it corner better by pushing the contact patch of the tires out away from the center of gravity.. but it's such a minor change I doubt it'll even be noticeable.

I really can't comment first hand on the ride and handling because my car is messed up. I've done a lot of work to the suspension already, and I still need to do a set of ball joints... So i can't really say what the ride should be like and compare it to what it was like after the change.

I'd love to sell the factory alloys. They've got a bit of curb rash on them, so I wouldn't be asking much money for them. The tires on the other hand... 3 of them are like brand new, so there is some value there. Let me know if you're interested.. i'm sure we could work something out.

I'll snag a bunch of photo's for you this afternoon if I find a few free minutes. I can't remember the brand name off the top of my head.

The alignment was really bad on my car, so my guess is that the front right tire wore really poorly for the previous owner, so they probably changed it out sooner than the rest. Then drove for a while on the set. Finally the other three needed to be replaced, so they put new tires on those three wheels. The one left over that was on the front right actually looks fine from the outside, but when you take it off or turn the wheel sharply you finally notice that the inside of the tire is worn severly. It was due to bad toe out.. probably from a blown tie rod that I replaced and the bad ball joints.

Seth -

Drop a 5mm spacer on the fronts and a 10-15mm on the rear and that'll serve both purposes... your front caps should fit, and your offsets should look great.

Good call Greg. I thought briefly about that. I'll have to hit up ebay for some spacers and be done with it.

New Lower control arms with ball joints get here on thursday, so i'm hoping to have time over the weekend to get them installed, so that I can finally drive this car.

Thanks! I didn't paint them myself, but the guy i bought them from did paint them for me, and he even was nice enough to include the can of paint... I'll find it tomorrow in the garage and give you the exact info on it.

* Here's the paint info:Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Coating

Color - WP102 (Graphite)
