Every day I see a TV commercial for SONIC

It really pisses me off because theres 3,500 of them across the country, but theres NOT A SINGLE SONIC IN NY, but theres 943 in Texas!

It has been bothering me for a while, and I finally gave in... and decided to spend around 5 hours driving 100 miles each way (from long island to waretown NJ), so I could satisfy my desire for their frozen drinks.

Heres a map of the trip

Upon getting there I drove around the store 3 times just to really take a look at their operation, its interesting, theres no "walk-in", only drive thru or drive up, or "walk-up" (you can order on foot and sit outside)

I parked while going to use the bathroom after the long trip, and saw a new 370z (didnt even have plates yet)

Heres me super excited at the drive-up service booth thing

A shot of the menu (note the AltimaCoupe.com Card!)

A shot of the girl on rollerskates who brought me my food!

My thoughts on the foodI had popcorn chicken, tader tots and 2 frozen drinks (watermelon and a lemon) I wanted to order more and just try them all, but with a 100 mile trip home I didnt wanna have to stop to use the bathroom at a nasty place lol.

The ice drinks are like a sno-cone put in a blender, little balls of ice with syrup. The Lemon one was very tart and seemed very acidic, I only drank half of that one. The Watermelon one on the other hand I thought was just DYNOMITE!

I dedicate this thread to SONIC talk and Pictures!

I just dont understand how theres 900+ in texas, and not a damn single Sonic in NY!

Its a franchise, i checked the info, all you need is $1m liquidity, and the upfront costs are btwn $750k-3m depending on the size of the store... Any NY guys wanna pool assets?

You know you should have just jumped onto I95 and come to the brand spanking new one we have here in Bensalem PA, it would have taken you 2 hours to get to and a lot less miles round trip. here's the address: 1525 STREET ROAD, BENSALEM, PA 19020

Oh and BTW that sonic link you have listed is wrong, the correct link is here:

PWNT! WHY would it take you 5 hours to drive 200 miles?

Sonic sucks. The drinks are good, but the food is horrible. I don't know wtf they put in those onion rings, but BLEH.

Sonic wins in the drinks category...In & Out wins in the Burgers IMO

that would be a good battle

Obviously you have never driven on the belt parkway or the staten island expressway....

Exerpt from Wiki "major project to improve the notoriously bad traffic conditions"

Its horrible traffic, all day long for the most part.

I say again, the food sucks. It's really not worth the drive.

They have tiny little flat-as$ patties that are cooked when frozen and have old veges on them. Also, the chili on the tater-tots is stale (usually) if not the tots themselves, and the onion rings have been tampered with. Yuck.

I'm in the same situation as you, just not as motivated. There is also no TRUE Taco Bell anywhere near me.

My friend goes to DC this week. I am going to make them buy some Sonic for me now.

Agreed with naruto fanboi...I have a sonics 10 miles away from me. Me an a friend went to try it out and I must say, NOT IMPRESSED. Dairy Queen shakes and mister misties are better and their food is just plain garbage.
