So ive really been into making my own Asian cuisine lately and i was wondering what your favorite dishes were so post em up.

Mine:

Beef Pho (Vietnamese)if you have never tried this, you are failsaus

Miso Ramen (japanese)the very thick flavor of miso soup with an addition of ramen noodles.

Soba (japanese)A noodle made of buckwheat, very tasty, commonly served cold at metro stations in japan

Udon (japanese)a very thick wheat noodle served usually in soups, kinda like a very thick ramen noodle.

sushi (japanese)of course a favorite, but spicy tuna hand roll has to be my favorite.

thai tea (thai)this shiz is sooo yumsaus. Its a blend of heavily brewed black tea, sweetened with milk and sugar. it also commonly has spices such as star anise. I highly reccomend drinking this with beef pho.

so, what do you guys like?

I'm not really a fan of Asian food. I mean, there's some I like, but overall asian foods have the wrong types of flavors. I don't like sweet foods, with the exception of candy. Dessert should be sweet. Meals should not.

There are a lot of noodle-based asian meals I like, though, especially ones that combine good meat and vegetables. As long as it isn't sweet.

PAD THAI is my fav. guilty pleasure. Any of you non-canucks ever visit Niagara Falls, take the 15 min drive to St. Catharine's for Sahla Thai's dishes. Nothing short of brilliant.

Those soups look delicious, too bad the all the asian joints are mostly buffet style. Tried thai one time, and didn't like too much. It was just too aromatic for my taste buds. Long time ago I had sizzling rice soup, best ever....and this was in a little chinese restaurant in Anchorage AK...

I adore thai curry dishes (any type, but I like Yellow and Red the best) and think each style fits a mood I'm in. Kinda like various types of wine.

I am a HUGE fan of Cambodian cuisine too. I'm working on cooking it better when I can find the damned ingredients. Unfortunatly (and sorta fortunately) for me, I live less than a half mile away from what I feel are the best Cambodian, Thai, and noodle houses I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. So much so that I will offer put you up in my place for a weekend and we'll visit and you can decide.

*EDIT* There is also a spicyish onion salad of sorts that I love to death but have NO idea what it was called because when I last ordered it, I just pointed at the menu randomly. If you think you know what it is, lmk! Its got julienne red and white onions, sliced green onions, and what I suspect are Vidalia onions, too. They're tossed in a thin, light red spicy (chili?) sauce with small cuts of iceberg lettuce. Oddly, the heat counteracts my onion allergy.

I love cambodian food. I grew up in a predominantly Cambodian neighborhood, allowing me to sample the best of what they have. I also love Laotian food, due to the fact that sticky rice is used as a side in basically every dish.

Christ, you live in Utah, I can't expect good choices out there. Go to CA or something.. or you can come visit here and you can come with us to Philly (or NYC).

Gotta be honest, all the food in that original post looks terrible... Soba looks like worms.

But then again Im a stupidly picky eater... I am making some teriyaki chicken and white rice right now though, that almost counts

I want to try worms. I tried caterpillar last summer. Didn't care for it -- the inside was fine but the outside of the bug was too bitter.
