I'm looking at both used and new M35's. There is a lot of information on the forum about earlier years but do any 2009 owners have any first impressions of their car to share? And how was the buying experience? How much of a discount, etc. Thanks for any insight.
I have a 2010 M35S with tech and advanced package. Had it for 13 months now, almost 17k miles on the clock. Great car, very happy with it so far and look forward to driving it just about every day. I've done a few road trips to Las Vegas and Albuquerque and the car loves the open road and going fast.
No problems at all so far and highly recommend one if you're looking
I hope to be get either a 2009 or 2010 at the end of the year, depending on what is available and the prices. Right now I am seeing 2009's going for around $35,000, I am hoping the prices will drop to around $30,000 by the end of the year. In my area, there are a total of about 17 2009's and 2010's available combined, and most of those are sold by a rental car company, so I figure once there are more on the market, leases turned in for example, that should effect the price in my favor, hopefully.

The rental M35s will likely be bare bones models without the options packages. They're also rentals - who knows how they were treated and maintained. I'd be on the lookout for a lease turn on on a 2009. They started going out in fall of 2008 so should be turned back in to dealers this fall.
Another thing to keep in mind is the economy was really in the tank when the '09s were being sold new and not much better with the '10s. I would venture a guess that there are not as many '09s and '10s as previous years to that could affect the supply side of the equation keeping prices higher. Just keep your eye on things but also make friends with your local dealers. If they have buyers lined up for lease turn-ins those cars will never make it to autotrader.com or other sites.
