Wow...I found out something big tonight...at least big to me. So I'm bored here at work, plant is shut down, just watching TV and looking on the internet. I found a pic of the vert dome light and I saw something...the plug on the dome light. So I go outside and unscrew my dome light and boom...looks just like the plug on my new map light mirror wiring harness. So I unplug the dome light and plug in my new harness, then plug the harness into the dome light. Plug the other plug into the map light mirror and just touch the ground wire to the frame and voila...I have map lights. No running new wires or splicing...just plug and play. The wiring harness is just $11.64 and it's in stock. Part number is K1231 6X002 JUMPER MIRROR / CRTSY LGT. I ordered mine from Courtesy Nissan along with my new map light mirror, part number K2573 6X001 MIR AY-INR RR VIEW it costs $94.93. The mirror is a little high but it's worth having the right parts and lights I can turn on and off without opening my door. Here is a few pics of the harness plugged into the dome light.

Hope this helps anyone else that's wanted to add this mirror.

That would have helped if I'd know then instead of wiring it manually.

That's a great find. Doesn't it make you feel good? These are direct plug-and-plays that I've found so far.

Well the temp. got up to 74* today and I thought I would hook up my rear view mirror lights. The installation was very easy...expect removing the header (piece that runs under the sunvisors). This piece is VERY fragile so if you do this mod be very careful. After removing the trim all I had to do was plug up the mirror harness and drill a small hole for the ground. Took me about 20 mins. total. Here are a few pics:

Here you can see the harness plugged in and tucked away, also you can see the ground screwed in place:

Here is everything back together...map lights working great:

Side shot of the mirror...can see how the wire cover fits:

The lights come on when I open my door with the dome lights. It's a lot more light with the two additional lights. I work nights, when I leave for work it's already dark this time of year so I really needed more light and a light that I can turn on and off. I can't tell y'all how much you should do this mod if you already haven't. I'm just glad to have it done and I'm glad I didn't mess up my header trim.

edit: Almost forgot...I did have to modify my header trim. I had to use my Dremel tool to cut out a little slot for the wire and wire cover. Just traced out the end of the wire cover on the top edge of the header trim and cut it out.

Looks great!

Are you saying that it has been to cold to work on your car?

I can't wait to even see 40* here

Yeah...been too cold. I didn't want to risk cracking the trim with it being so cold...it's been in the 40's and 50's (not that cold) but I didn't want to risk it. Today being 74 was my best shot for the next week or so since they are calling for snow this Sunday and temps dropping down in the 20's

I really gotta get outta WI. It's ridiculous how cold it is here, sure there are colder places, but I would kill for a 70* day in February.

I'm with QV. It looks like a standard GM wire cover, but I just want to be certain (I know the mirror is a GM item as that's the p/n that was returned to be when I ordered it)

I got the wire cover with my new mirror. It's not listed by it's self, only with the mirror so I think the only way to get one is to order the whole new mirror. I checked on http://www.courtesyparts.com/ and it's not listed...just with the mirror.

There are a few parts with the whole lighted mirror that aren't available anymore...but they are not really needed. The screw that holds the ground down isn't available nor is the "black out" tape...it's just a piece of black tape that's shaped like the wire cover that sticks to the windshield so you can't see the wires though the glass....which you can't really see anyway.
