Well, the cars interior was mostly stripped in the rear, so there was nothing I could do there.Cone Junky wrote:Since your going turbo, you're only option that I know of in auto-x is Street Modified (SM). That's a tough class to start in, but still gives you seat time. Make sure you read the rules for your class too. Even SM specifies having a complete interior.
Just food for thought.
Yeah, I plan on it after the engine is complete and running.240TT wrote:good start and nice plans. i would definitely look into coilovers or some aspect of suspension before you attempt to bring it to the track though. keep up the work
My Dad owns a 81 Jimmy were going to use to tow the car place to place.hbpignosePA wrote:looks like a good start. KA T eh? thats pretty cool i guess. Just take your time and plan everything else out first. Don't hastily buy parts until you have an idea of what you need.
you mentioned track only? do you have something to tow it to the track? if not make sure what you do is going to be comfortable for driving on the highway.

It says Rear passenger seat(s) do(es) not need to be retained. So I can take the seat out just nothing else? Can someone clarify this please.Cone Junky wrote:Since your going turbo, you're only option that I know of in auto-x is Street Modified (SM). Well the track I will be going to doesn't use classes or anything by SCCA, its all on its own. So I called them and I'm fine without it.Cone Junky wrote:Yes, just the back seat. All other interior trim must be retained. I had to move my battery from where the back seat was to the trunk when I switched to DSP. The weight of the seat is minimum, but I preferred the battery more centered in the chassis and lower.
Yeah, I emailed the auto x person there and He said they don't go by classes or anything..DriftBoy07 wrote:Well if its a track car your going to want to compete, so maybe the track doesnt require it...but the competition might.
Let me know how you like the Spec Clutch, I was debating between that and the Exedy but I went with the Exedy.
Not yet, how much is a bag of it?hbpignosePA wrote:looks good, you pick up some dry ice? it makes the sound deadening come out waay easier
My seat time will include Auto X at my local track, which if you didn't read my other posts doesn't go my scca rules or use classes, its a general race for everyone to be in. So I'll get my seat time that way.95silvia14 wrote:with no interior your going to be bumped into a prepared class,
id start with seat time followed by seat time , seat time, suspention, seat time get better seat and stearing wheel , followed by you guessed it more seat time
