Besides the classifieds on this site, what other websites can I trust to buy an SR20DET with transmission, ECU, and any other things I may need (i.e. wire harness, motor mounts, transmission mounts, drive shaft, etc.). I know picking it up in person would be good but I've searched online and haven't found a place in my area that I know of.

not to sound nasty either, but the search button works for more than just the classifieds. this topic has been covered so many times.

just buy a full swap from a reputable site, and drive it till it breaks, and then rebuild it.

the motor will give out, most sr's do after a while. you should be able to find a swap for 2500 or less shipped. and about another 2k for intercooler, harness, rad, fuel pump, gauges, mounts, and other random crap.

500 would cover a decent shock and strut combo and thats about it. In my opinion the suspension is the most important part of the car and should paid most attention to. Save like 1k for coils then get some ruca's and then if you have the money you can get sub frame bushings and etc...

goodlord, whats with all this 5k talk?dude, did you even look at the sites i posted?sr20store can get you a sr motorset for like 2700 bucks.enjuku has a package for about 4100, motorset + a crap load of fun stuff to put on it, even a updated clutch.and if you want suspension, expect to pay 1000 for coils and nearly 260-280 for ruca, i recomend battleversion.you want more information on the sr20, theres gobs of it here as well as online, google it.if you need visual aide, then go to http://www.drifting.com and buy theyre dvd's theres one for an sr install as well as another that is a rebuild how to.with all of that, there is no way to go wrong.

also, there are different versions of sr20det motors( possibly why youve seen them going for so high a price, s15 motors can be very pricey). stick with a redtop. its cheapest, readily availible.
