My left headlight turns with the steering wheel going into a left hand turn from a stop and also turning left at low speeds

My understanding from the owners manual is the following.

Owners Manual Page 2-29 The AFS will operate when the vehicle is driven at above 16mph for the left-side headlight. Note that the right-side low beam headlight will swivel but the leftside will not swivel when the vehicle is at a stop and steering wheel is turned. The vehicle must attain a speed above 16MPH before the AFS activates the left-side headlight.

So my question is does your 2007 M45 left head light turn when you turn left from a stop sign? My service manager said this is normal and basically the manual is wrong. Im a simple person and if Nissan went to the bother of making a special note about the head light operation then I believe it to be true.

around page 145 thru about 175 of the LT section in the FSM give a GREAT deal of detail on how this system works.

you gotta download the fsm if you dont already have it. It is invaluable!!!

Well it does confirm the left headlight should only turn left above 15.5 MPH.

Its possible what I notice shortly after startup is the self check of the left headlight upon startup. It's suppsed to sweep towards the outside of the car and back to center. Maybe it's doing this everytime I turn left out of my driveway.

I gain a new respect for my service guy everytime I read those manual pages. I also will make sure I purchase the elite warranty when appropriate because you see just how easy it would be for these components to fail after 4 to 5 years.

Thanks guys. You always have the answers
