I want to go with a semi flat or satin black paint on my S14 but I hear it takes twice the work to keep it looking good because it doesn't have a clear coat to protect it from the environment. personally I think it would look good especially with a set of deep dish gold rims.

Well, I think the RWB 911 is probably my favorite flat-painted car also, here's something that's not flat BLACK, but rather flat battleship grey.

This is Mark Arcenal's (of Fatlace and Nike) S14:

No idea. Probably around the time that I thought it was cool enough before everyone else did and got my 240sx painted like that, too.

fanbois clamoring over "that one cool guy's car" on the forums even though he couldn't afford a finished paint job and didn't feel like wasting time to wax his car.

whenever I get around to getting a truck, it's getting a flat paintjob as I don't wanna get pissed when I scratch it doing retarded things off road in it

Who cares?

Matte anything is just another color, it's all subjective. Looks great sometimes, looks crappy other times. Not sure why everyone feels the need to make a religion out of what kind of auto paint they prefer.

i like the look of flat black on tons of cars. but there are some that i think the original stock paint does it better than anything else ever will.

I'm actually looking into this, for one.. I can't afford a 'proper' paint job.. those are $2k-$3k and they last.. what.. 10yrs with proper care? Wrap you car in auto-quality vinyl in whatever color you want and it lasts the same amount of time while protecting your paint underneath. I'm going to do it, as my S13 is three different shades of red due to the idiot that had it before 'watering down' the paint. I think it was a cheap Maaco job. Anyhow, I'm probably going to go for a dark-blood red or go BRG....

<---likes matte cars for ease of maintenance.

if the paint starts getting craptastic on the EP due to my laziness, I'll matte the ***** in a heartbeat.

I dunno...me personally, I suspect I'd focus too much on the upclose details like little airbubbles and stuff and really not like the film finish.

do an old school lacquer job that will take eons to chip off and add a few hundred pounds to your car

The only problem I see with that site is that its in Germany and there is no link on how to get it shipped to the US, otherwise I'd definately request a quote cause my car looks like so much azz right now since the clearcoat decided to start peeling off on me and I don't want to fork out money on a paint job when I'm just going to paint it a different color when i finally finish building it up and get it kitted up and widebodied out.
